AK Sept 2021.....Gear and Fly

Spent a week on Chatham Strait.
First time fishing in AK. All inclusive lodge that was fantastic.
Two days in the fresh water with the fly rod, four days in the salt with gear.










Fantastic trip. Treated like kings at the lodge. Headed back in 2022.

Good god that last photo is incredible!

But upon further examination something looks a bit fishy. Is that a water feature?

Lamson Guru used? (I booked my first trip to AK this coming September and sure wish I'd kept the reel/spool.)

Not on the Guru...the lodge provided all the fishing gear, 8wt TFO single hand stuff. Their fly selection left something to be desired though as it was approaching the end of the season. I ended up tying flies in the evening using whatever some of the guides had available. But, the Guru has been used on the Klickitat!
If you're in southern AK in Sept, you'll have to wade over and through the pinks!
