Do you ever tie it in a balanced leech style?
My favorite is an IOBO Humpy because it's a simple one material tie that floats well and works on bwo hatches.

I don't. I like just having one fly that I can throw with sinking line or under an indicator. I like the simplicity of a slotted bead and jig hook in regards to tying and to be honest I don't think it makes a difference to the fish.
gotta try that. I tie a mole fly variation for the same purpose but I bet that humpy back catches some air
Those all seem like very good points. I just hear some local winter/early-spring bass fly fishers who are all about the balanced leech. But yeah, I can also see it not mattering to the fish.
Technical answer: Yes.
Ideally, you’d tie a new one to justify the vise and materials you’ve got.
