A quick and easy pattern. Walter makes his living tying/guiding in/around Yellowstone, some serious hopper country and this one has been well received by a few trout in my part of the state. I don’t have the fancy cutter to shape the body, but I did figure out that a toenail clipper does a neat job tapering the back end of the foam, so no more ragged scissor cuts. Here’s his video if you’re interested.

hook - WFC Model 6 #8
thread - UTC 140 woodduck
underbody - Ice Dub golden brown
body/head - 2mm foam gold
wing - Congo Hair shiner tan
legs - silicone brown flake
indicator - 2mm foam orange

Regards,
Scott

Depleted Uranium, from Fly Patterns of Northern New Mexico. Double wrapped 0.25 nonlead covered with peacock heel, undersized brown and grizzly hackle aft and fore. Should have gone a size smaller on the aft hackle.

I've got that book, Zak. I think we have talked about it before. Some interesting flies there. There are a few fore-and-aft hackled patterns popular in that part of the Country. I fish the Arizona Peacok Lady and the Apache Peacock Lady in AZ.
