I've been helping my mom move from WA to AZ after her retirement for the last 3 days. That meant a lot of time in the car. Whenever I wasn't driving, I was working my way through all 104 pages of awesome here!

I took screenshots of a number of flies I want to tie for my next trip. Thank you all for the inspiration, I'll try to post some pics of what I do.

First thing outta the vise after another long break. I need to crank out about a dozen of these. They aren’t anything special but catch fish.
I only was able to stock about 4 of these flies in my box before this last trip. I probably gave two away and needed more so I got to do one of my favorite things—tie flies in camp and fish them immediately. I ended up needing small ones and I just stopped using any pheasant tail, so no tail on the fly, omitting the body wrap and just using a slim, tapered black thread body rib-wrapped with one strand each purple and pearl krystal flash. Then loop the flash as wings, tie in and loop CDC, finish with peacock. Make a nice black thread head under the peacock. The peacock is usually the first to go but the fly still works with a black thread head.
