Hise Carpnasty (variation)

Going to try this again on a curved nymph hook; may change the tail up a bit. Here’s the original, if you’re interested.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #6
thread - Uni 6/0 tan
tail - pheasant rump
body - Ice Dub hare’s ear
shoulder - pheasant rump (including all the fluff at the base of the feather)
legs - Sili Legs gold
eyes - large bead chain gold
head - Ice Dub dubbing hare’s ear

Parachute around the CDC, then hackle pushed back, and cdc tied forward in an emerger form. Interesting pattern.


Antron yarn and flash twisted and wrapped for body. Wrapped a soft hackle and then trimmed top fibers

I was going to use the Flye Foil but didn’t want to waste a set since it’s going to get these eyes anyway so I cut a thin strip out of the Flye Foil material for the body. So yeah same material.

Hise Carpnasty (variation II)

Skipped the hassle of tying a pair of rump feathers for a tail and just wrapped one; prefer the curved nymph hook over the scud one used on the first try.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #6
thread - Uni 6/0 rust
tail - pheasant rump dyed orange (1 Tbs Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
body - dubbing rusty orange
shoulder - pheasant rump dyed orange
legs - Sili Legs brown/orange
eyes - large bead chain gold
head - FTD ET Dubbing cinnamon

I like the ones with the green band. I'm thinking something like that will be good in Juneish/early summer? if I recall for caddis.

I would imagine they could be, I fished these last year in April as droppers under a Skwala chubby and they worked very well, hoping for the same next month.
