First time spinning deer.
More practice is needed, but I'm happy with it

Looks great! I suck at spinning deer hair, but I'd swim that thing before tying up a bunch more. That's the true test....well, the truer test is what decides to eat it.

Sorry, I'm dumb lol.
What sort of things should be be looking for. Just how it rides or looks in the water? Or?

I'll wait on asking how to fix issues from testing. But what am I looking for when swimming it?

As with everything, it depends...

For more ambush style predators, you'll probably want more of an erratic type of action (kinda like a jerkbait). For more active hunters, like many salty fish, they usually don't like it when their prey just stops and kicks to the side. But, generally speaking, you're not going to want it to spin regardless.

The chukar and caribou, both being a grayish cast, turned out more lemony yellow than chartreuse

thread - SemperFli 8/0 fluoro yellow
tail - pheasant tail
rib - Depth Ray fluoro red
body - dubbing cream
body hackle - white
shoulder - chukar dyed lemon yellow (1 Tbs Rit Neon Yellow/1 cup water)
collar/head - caribou dyed lemon yellow

Variation based, loosely, on a softhackle developed for trout that run up the Madison River into Yellowstone in the fall.

hook - WFC Model 6 #10
thread - Danville mono cord tobacco brown
tail - lemon woodduck
rib - tying thread (doubled/twisted)
body - Ice Dub orange
hackle - dyed golden olive (2 Tsp Rit Golden Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Camel/2 cups water)
shoulder - pheasant rump dyed orange (1 Tbs Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
collar/head - deer hair
