These guys wiggle like mad when given a sharp twitch on the surface and dive a bit and wobble on a steady retrieve. Tested in the water for action but not fished yet. I expect these to fish well in open water for bass and maybe even trolled while changing locations.

Hook: Firehole 860 #1
Popper head: 1/2 inch foam cylinder
Shanks: fish skull
Tail marabou or suede cut to shape
Body: game changer finesse chenille
Diving bill: Fishlips
Colored with marker and coated with UV resin

These flies were working really well at a hike in high mountain lake in central oregon this weekend. So I tied up a half dozen for a visiting friend (coincidently it’s his birthday tomorrow).

The white one is tied with mountain goat hair I found on a backpacking trip last fall.

I really like these Hanak 900 hooks for my 8 and 10 leech patterns. They’re big enough to get a good size leech but they’re not to tough to cast with a tungsten bead and a 5wt.

Going to hit a local lake, tied some Jig flies. See if I can get deep this time, still learning the lake side of things (among everything else)

First one looks sloppy but I like it. Pure olive Chinese pheasant. Tail is fibers, then pheasant marabou for body and soft hackle collar. Little dubbing to cover empty area.
