haha no just stick it through the outermost layer of skin. It's dead skin cells so it doesn't hurt at all.were you born with that skin tag?
They’re strangely satisfying to tie.We are just a month away from our Mother’s Day Caddis extravaganza on our big rivers here in SW Montana. Rachycentrus occidentallis is the predominant species during this hatch. As a case building caddis, the larva worms in their stone and stick cases display a predominantly green or chartreuse color when they stick their heads out and forage for food. Troutnut.com has some good images of the larval stage.

Hear a few variations on the “Peeking Caddis” theme.

That bird of prey looks lethal to lot of species.Since I've been working on Doc Spratleys I'll throw this in as my favorite for lakes.

Last fall I had a lot of success with a Bird of Prey.

I found redbands, bulls, whitefish and had one steelhead hook up with that pattern. Last fall was the first season I'd fished one, and it's earned a place in my box. The interweb has lots of variations for other caddis seasons as well. https://www.google.com/search?q=bir...#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:f007559b,vid:6utRbz70eEkThat bird of prey looks lethal to lot of species.
I'd throw that for warm water species too. I bet your crappie would hammer itI found redbands, bulls, whitefish and had one steelhead hook up with that pattern. I'll be sure to give it a try. Getting anxious for them to fill the reservoir to get back to that.I'd throw that for warm water species too. I bet your crappie would hammer it
can confirm, these work....very well!I also went with a peeking caddis. (or peeping depending on who you ask) I validated this pattern about 10 years ago. It's a nice and heavy tool fly for getting it and its tiny dropper companion down deep.
