If Green Stalin is real, there’s an equal or greater force working against him.

And what Zak said re. chicken and egg. Better alternatives don’t just show up out of nowhere. They need time and money to be developed, and this is where the forces working against Green Stalin make progress difficult or impossible.
I don't see that at all.. I see green Stalin shoving his agenda down my throat at every turn by legislation and by societal guilt/ peer pressure.

If you think badly about someone for what they drive, you're doing it..

I just read dereliction of duty... there is no reason to believe any government actions are being taken for altruistic reasons. If your not skeptical and cynical you're being never. It's that simple.
Honestly I like everything that HR McMaster has been saying lately. I struggle, cause he's one of those dudes too....but maybe he's reborn?

This country has turned into the embodiment of perfect capitalism to a degree. And I don't blame the capitalist, more so I do the government. I don't have a better model, besides the actual concepts set forth by this country in the beginning. But it's safe to say capitalism has won.

Money and power rule. Those in the highest reaches of money and power rule the government. Government makes decisions based on those who they are beholden to. And that ain't us.
Money and power do not care about the environment, historically or currently (despite cute little commercials and shit), so therefore government has no standing in doing much of anything productive that would interfere with money and power.

Math adds up to me.

Besides, our military is the single largest source for this sort of shit....

this thread has gone further on this forum than any other of it's kin without being mod shut, so why not keep the political name calling out of it...whether you agree, disagree, or are frustrated by the topic, bottom line is we all have to breathe the same air. Until of course the colony ships built by the billionaires are finished, at which point they will promptly abandon the mess their greed created on this planet, and go find another to start on.

And the horse you rode in on, Elon!

Sorry if it's not directed to me. But I'm the next comment up and used the world politician/government alot. But regardless, I don't see alot of name calling (my posts or others). Differing opinions, sure.
So please clarify if I am out of line.

For the record, to me both sides are the same. Telling different lies to different folks for the same purpose. Obviously I have leanings to "one side" probably to a degree, but hold no love for either side.

Capitalism is often confused with “crony” capitalism—an odious nexus of corporate and political power that crushes the worker and cheats the consumer. Close linkages between big business and the government have existed before (e.g., fascist Italy, national‐socialist Germany, Peronist Argentina, etc.). However, most academics do not refer to such systems as exhibiting “crony capitalism,” but “corporatism.”
Perfect Capitalism, much as perfect communism as envisoned by Marx, or perfect socialism does not exist, has never existed, and likely will never exist.

The real estate footprint on land for a coal fired plant that produces the equivalent amount of energy would undoubtedly be fewer acres. However, the air pollution impacts would also undoubtedly cover a far larger atmospheric acreage. Choices, choices.
Nuclear…

Explain to me again all the amazing innovation that happened under Stalin? Force and central planning are not the harbingers of innovation. They are however the harbingers of luddite thinking, oppression, piss poor ideas advanced by might and a way of life I would not like to be a part of. Are we really at the point of Stalin good, free market bad? Look throughout the world and tell me where great innovation has come of Stalinistic means?

Hmmm, I do not see that in his writing at all.
Kennedy and Johnson totally screwed over the military to pass their domestic agenda that had nothing to do with rich people and was very anti capitalist. Politicians will and do sell out anyone if they need votes.. the only money they care about is what they can give away to get re-elected. Rich or poor makes no difference legislation is about buying votes.

I’m cool, no heat here…
Yeah, I haven't seen much if any heat directed towards one another. Towards our broken system and those who use it for less than benevolent purposes which is more or less all our elected officials.
