American Made Flyrods

We're on the Road to Nowhere...
Other than Sage (the quality of which I'm not pleased with) and Winston (beautiful rods but I prefer fast action) who makes high quality flyrods with good warranties and repair reputations?

Asking for a friend. 😁

I should have added flyreels to the question. And for both flyrods and flyreels I really mean all components actually manufactured in the US, not just designed and assembled. You dig down into details and it often appears 'made in the USA' is conflated with assembled in the USA.

Varies, of course, different product lines within the umbrella of a brand.

Edge fly rods. Website says they are USA made... Devil is in the details...

Nowadays, good warranties are hard to come by... And they change on the manufacturer's whim ---> never better for the consumer...

It seems by now every USA rod manufacturer has gone through a spell of slow delivery on repairs. Complaints are rampant. Pretty much the only rod companies you rarely hear complaints about are imports where they grab a pre-made replacement section from a warehouse bin. Most (not all) domestic rods need to be ferruled one-at-a-time for repairs.

I have backup rods for my most important fishing, so rather than focus a lot on how fast or expensive a repair is, I focus on whether it can occur at all. I like companies where I can be reasonably assured that repairs will be possible indefinitely. Last year, I had a 30 year old graphite rod explode on a fish and get repaired in a couple months. It really bothers me to have to mothball an entire rod because of a broken section.

Try americangearguide.com They list a bunch of American made companies. They don't have Edge rods on there though.

The only parts that are available like that are tip sections. All other sections have to be scrapped from a complete rod. Rods, even imports, are made as one and cut in to (usually) four pieces. But tip sections are able to be build on their own without issue.

What is your definition of good warranty?

And what does "made in the usa" mean? How far is one willing to go? Parts from places unknown, but assembled here? Every single piece made in the USA?
