He and my son played on the same high school basketball team. Cade's a really nice guy. My wife and I cheered louder for Cade's game-winning touchdown than we did during the Seahawks game.

I also think that was his first NFL touchdown. I saw that he kept that ball.

The Fighting Cickenhwks have played one of the easiest schedules in the NFL thus far. They have the 8th toughest moving forward. You all will get to see how good they are.
The NFC seems down overall right now. The best 4 teams have Kirk Cousins, jalen Hurts, Daniel Jones and Prescott under center. It's hard to believe that you can get to a superbowl with any of them but those would be the favorites. It certainly would make me more confident as a Seahawk fan.

My beloved Patsies were victorious today. They could have played the Colts for a week and Indy would not have found the end zone. The Pats offense is not good right now. They can't run. They protect poorly and they seem unable or unwilling to adjust.

The special teams is good overall. Folk is excellent. Marcus Jones is an explosive returner. Bailey has punted poorly.

The good news is that the 2022 draft seems to be excellent. The hoody drafted 4 starting level players and got two core special teams players as an undrafted FA's. They got 3 high impact starters the draft before.

If they can get the offense right, they have more talent than they have had in a while. It's a good week for a bye.
 
Wow the Lambs are proving you need more than 2 stars to win a game!

Meanwhile the hawks are winning with a whole team effort, and a bunch of rookies stepping up!

I read he lost his Mom in September so that was even more meaningful for the young man I bet.

Chiefs seem to be consistent benefactors of drive-extending questionable penalties. Not quite at the level the lambs did last year, but enough to keep me convinced the NFL puts their thumb on the scale for a few teams.

They've been on the other side of more than a few of those calls (roughing the passer a few weeks ago that extended a drive ending in a TD instead of 4th and 20+, etc); it balances out - there was constant holding of Kelsey through the whole game, so I'm not gonna shed any tears over what I suspect you're referring to (where he was held right off the line).

You're probably right... I just always get triggered at those drive extending plays at critical moments. But if it's a balance for another bullshit call, that's fair I suppose. I just hate refball.
 
Monday random thoughts.

What's the weak link for the Hawks?

I'm probably going with the LB group. Other then that wide receiver #3. If you look at free agents next few years we have a decent amount but not a ton of big names. Might be nice to lock down our center for a few years. I really hope they don't let Ryan Neal go with the thoughts Jamal is coming back.

And of course what to do with Geno? Do you franchise him? Offer him a big contact? Franchise and trade him? Let him walk?

Weakest point is definitely linebackers, specifically middle linebacker. O-line seems to be average or so, which is plenty good in my book. Geno is not getting sacked all that much, but a lot of that is due to him making quick decisions and getting the ball out when he needs to. Something the previous QB wasn't particularly good at.

WR3 is a solid when we have Goodwin in there (he was hurt this game). But we seem to need WR3 a bit less than most teams because there's 3 tight ends who are all a threat. Hawks have arguably the most solid, or at least among the top receiving corps in the league when you consider DK, Tyler, Goodwin, Dissly, Fant and Parkinson are all a threat in their own way, especially when they run a 3 TE set.

They need to figure out a way to lock down Geno for like 3yrs, $80m or so. But I fear a QB needy team is going to way overpay for him and he'll walk. It'll come down to whether or not he decides to take a team-friendly deal to stay somewhere he can win with a team that really believes in him vs going to a dumpster fire situation like RW (which is the type of team who would shell out the big bucks for him in an act of desperation). But if anything is becoming clear, a QB in a bad situation will look like a bad QB. Geno may have had enough of that in his career to want to go there again. At least that's the hope.
 
Strength and ease of schedule doesn’t mean a whole lot in the NFL. Any win is a good win and to go on the road and win in convincing fashion is even more impressive. AZ is much better team than their record would indicate. On any given Sunday….. anyone can beat anyone regardless of their record. Knoxism 101….”It’s not who play but when you play them”.
 
Evan, I would say the O-line is above average. Cross and Lucas are young studs. Damien Lewis is good. It would be nice to get another solid stud in their but the O line is giving Geno time, opening holes, but mostly they always seem to be plowing the field…moving forward. Not as much getting stood up. I think some has to do with Waldron’s formations and play selection. They appear to be wearing the D down and it starts to show as the game progresses.

Case in point: Jets just held their own and beat the Bills, who are seen as a juggernaut right now. (that was a really fun game to watch, too)

For the Hawks, the last 4 wins have all been convincing wins where the outcome never really seemed to be in question. I can't remember more than a handful of games in the RW era that felt that way. The RW way was always to barely pull off an ugly win at the last minute... which worked until it didn't.

Arizona may have some good players, but they are a bad team. Maybe its coaching...but they have 4 winning seasons in the last 10 years, and last years 11-6 record was the first winning seaspn since 2015. Maybe it's a front office thing.
Watching them yesterday I never felt they were going to win, just that they would make a few big plays and then fold.
Reich was fired today from the Colts, Kingsbury will get the axe if the Cards keep up this sort of play.

If not for that pick 6 (which was pretty impressive to be fair), they didn't do a whole lot. Their offense couldn't do much of anything all day.
 
Thing I was most impressed with yesterday: Geno's pick 6, which may have been one of his lowest points all season. Comes back out and puts together three consecutive touchdown drives, converting every single 3rd down.

I don't necessarily disagree, but the record thing is more about the season totality not every Sunday. Some teams improve, some remain consistent, and others dissolve and fall apart as the season continues for multiple reasons, injuries, trades, qb changes, coaching changes, etc. …. In the NFL some teams with losing records can play winning football !!
 
Looked like DK chose to get rid of the paint on his head. Maybe he is maturing and intent on making his play and natural talent be his statement. That would be nice.
