Hahahaha. Then educate yourself on how to NOT get tracked. Blows my mind how some people genuinely think the government actually gives a shit what they are doing, and at all times.

Ok I thought what companies and governments do with your data and tracking was a concern, most of the people here were pissed about VS taking over wfff and their personal info. In our county they just implemented a law that you cannot buy alcohol without them scanning your ID, no matter how much gray hair your have..
"Oh it just reads the date its not saved, ...right" then when you need that liver transplant in 10 years, looks like your purchasing history indicates alcohol use, transplant denied, unless you want to pay the elite price. Legit concerns in our tech heavy society. When I hear iPhone can track you even better now it just throws up red flags.

Iphone14 is just a teaser. Functionality is what is important. Much like a teaser lady in the bar. You buy drinks, spend time, legs get rubbed. You hope to get lucky but only end up with blue balls.
 
I think the capability is already here. When using google maps it can track your progress when out of cell reach. How? Satellite communication. Your phone is communicating with satellites already. Make it more robust and suddenly we don't need cell towers. Ooh....that's gotta bother some people.

So it sounds like it CAN receive txts in reply. But Apple isn't letting you use it to just text a buddy to come and get you. You have to go through emergency services.

It's a pretty impressive system, but I'm not sure it replaces the Garmin InReach for me.

Why would I lie about that??? It was posted on every door of every store I went to and all the checkers were bitching about it. Mandatory ID scans starting Sept 1.

Yesterday in Cowlitz county, the checkout lady scanned my identification for a six pack. What little hair I have left is decidedly gray.
I don’t know what changed here, may be corporate policy for all I know.
