What reality show about an inbred family is this

All of this just depends on what style of music one is drawn to.

For me, I currently listen to a pretty wide range of stuff, but I'll always be drawn to that early Metallica, early Megadeth, etc....some people think it's just noise, I'm not one since once you break it down, it's all just music, just faster.
I should have said generally speaking. There were definitely some exceptions.

People often tend to prefer music that was popular (and associated with youthful good times relatively free of life's many adult obligations) up to their early 30's...at which time everything following is dreadful shit.
This is most certainly true for many folks , the oldies stations that clutter the dial sort of show that is the case.
A good buddy of mine says most people listen to the same type of music their whole lives the listened to between 16-25.
He was a hollywood movie guy for many years.

There was great music in any decade. But with media consolidation and media mergers in the 80s, the stuff on the radio sucked, due on large part to the profit driven formulaic style imposed on stations by new owners.

iHeartRadio... I think we're down to maybe 4 major radio conglomerates, same platforms nation/worldwide, soft corporate safe hits. That's why you only hear Queen, Green day, Led Zeppelin, Def Leopard, on endless repeat on stations such as 'The Brew'

I dont listen to radio or watch tv, but when i am around someone who is, i notice both mediums are worthless garbage punctuated by advertising a bunch of shit i have no interest in.
Watching tv during football season i find the relentless advertising annoying as hell, and since i dont see much tv advertising i am pretty much turned off by it.

Not to sound like an elitist but I like and love music that is of high quality and mastery. That can be about any genre or decade. What's popular or pop music is not a disqualifier but makes it suspect. That said the original Woodstock line up was phenomenal almost every set. Hendrix, so far above nearly alien. Hendrix at Monterey Pop, wow. Joplin, great for the same reason Dylan is great. They are original and tastefully artistic with mastery of craft. Dylan is a horrible singer by all standard standards yet it works, that's artistry. But for my money the most powerful rock band in history is none other than Led Zeppelin. I found a copy of Physical Graffiti on vinyl as a kid. I repaired a garage sale record player to play it on. This was one of those cabinet deals. I sat and listened to it. "Impressive" was the word I used after hearing it. Then I called my buddy to come over and hear it. He felt the same way. I already loved blues music at this point. Led Zeppelin took it to a new place for me. Enough ranting. You get the idea.
