I should have said generally speaking. There were definitely some exceptions. All of this just depends on what style of music one is drawn to.
For me, I currently listen to a pretty wide range of stuff, but I'll always be drawn to that early Metallica, early Megadeth, etc....some people think it's just noise, I'm not one since once you break it down, it's all just music, just faster.
This is most certainly true for many folks , the oldies stations that clutter the dial sort of show that is the case.People often tend to prefer music that was popular (and associated with youthful good times relatively free of life's many adult obligations) up to their early 30's...at which time everything following is dreadful shit.
iHeartRadio... I think we're down to maybe 4 major radio conglomerates, same platforms nation/worldwide, soft corporate safe hits. That's why you only hear Queen, Green day, Led Zeppelin, Def Leopard, on endless repeat on stations such as 'The Brew'This is most certainly true for many folks , the oldies stations that clutter the dial sort of show that is the case.
A good buddy of mine says most people listen to the same type of music their whole lives the listened to between 16-25.
He was a hollywood movie guy for many years.
There was great music in any decade. But with media consolidation and media mergers in the 80s, the stuff on the radio sucked, due on large part to the profit driven formulaic style imposed on stations by new owners.

We're doing this, I have to unload a truck, the bizkit on the PA system. Thanks to PNWFF limp bizkit is now trending on Spotify searches.
It's go time.
I'll probably lose customers over this but the 90s must be respected.
