Washington general stream opener this weekend!

The Saturday before Memorial Day is nearly upon us! Regardless of what it looks like outside, that is what the calendar says. Do you have any plans? I'm trying someplace new to me with @Squatchin. So, I hesitate to "call my shot" but it will be good to cast a light line on moving water nonetheless. If I had to guess I'd say we hope to find some of these:

Not looking good our way. Some visibility today, flows are up though, and one rivers in my danger level high for wading. If it rains tonight and tomorrow like it's supposed to, gonna be tough fishing. Lots of stillwater options however. We'll see.

Yeah yeah stillwater schmillwater, we've had those options and they're great. Ready for something new though. Folks might also be looking for early summer runs or, come June 1, Springers as well in a few rivers.
 
YES!! I am so excited about opening day. Gonna be throwing a dry dropper to start. Big Chubby with a small waltz or hustler nymph underneath. If that doesn't work then gonna go back to deep nymphing. My river is gonna be up around 13,000 cfs so high water pockets is what I am going to be targeting! Hoping to get on some of these:

Graphs are lookin pretty rough. But man I am jonesing! Might do a drive around and check on some of the little stuff and see if I can find something worth fishing. Or I have a giant pile of yard waste to burn and flies to tie. Good luck to those that send it!
 
Yup, thinking small...smaller basins drain out quicker. As long as the rain lets up for a bit. 🤞
 
My last weekend of turkey season plans went belly up, so I may be looking for a close getaway. Does anyone know how the SF Snoqualmie along I-90 is looking?

No wonder once I added the muddled head to my GRHE it started pulling a different class of fish, but still works with the little guys. I think from the big eye might be a chinook smolt?
