Fishing refreshments/eats are…
Trail mix (has to be salty n sweet - chocolate), sliced summer sausage, assorted sliced cheeses, salty crackers, ice cold beer, and a fine cigar…all consumed under a shade tree stream-side. It’s my mid-day break from the action tradition. Good Fishing Karma too.![]()
How much for the vintage Clif bar? I know a guy in the market.I wish I could plan like that. For me, it’s nothing, or a cliff bar that’s been in my fishing pack since 2014. Some days maybe a bag of stale Doritos from a store that won’t get angry if I walk in with wet waders. An example would be “the store” for all you MA 9 coho anglers. They don’t seem to care if I drag half of PNP in on my wading boots.
I seriously considered bidding on yours. I’ve developed a taste for aged cliff bars with the consistency of stale saltwater taffy. Yum, yum….How much for the vintage Clif bar? I know a guy in the market.
When I used to do major remodels on homes I would always say something to this effect when the demo started. "It's going to get ugly before it gets pretty. If you ever walked into the kitchen of your favorite restaurant and saw what goes on in there you'd never eat there again."after many years working in the food industry, low end and high end I’ve seen some pretty sketchy practices occur, a lot of which took place at esteemed high end establishments.
WTF!!! No chocolate chip cookies?I have a group of six today. There are some beginners so not sure they'd understand or appreciate this greatness of Chili's fajitas. So I'm playing it safe and here is our menu:
- trail mix with caramel balls
- One peanut butter cup protein bars
- veges/hummus
- turkey/roast beef on sourdough
- fruit cup
- 7 layer bars
- lots and lots of the hardest pulling rainbows in the state

When one finds these troves of quality burritos it’s a good day. Maybe worth a sticky thread with updates.I don't know if they still exist but there used to be a gas station in Kooskia, ID that had great homemade breakfast burritos wrapped in foil.
I would go out of my way for one.
Thread drift but this tucked away place in Kooskia is worth a browse if you're headed that way.

My son now lives in Lewiston. When I get recovered enough to do justice to one we plan on doing a "Burrito Drive" follwed by a little Cuttie fishing east of there. When one finds these troves of quality burritos it’s a good day. Maybe worth a sticky thread with updates.
Had a sister-in-law that we eventually stopped accompanying to any sort of dining establishment (from chains to well recognized fine dining establishments).....almost always sent food back to the kitchen, and treated servers in a uniformly rude fashion. Once she even went to the extent of throwing a plate of food into the kitchen opening at a restaurant. God only knows what foul substances she consumed over the years...sometimes repeatedly rejecting plates of food that didn't meet her ridiculously fussy standards. When I used to do major remodels on homes I would always say something to this effect when the demo started. Timely, Dean! Will be passing through Kooskia next week. We're always looking for food!I don't know if they still exist but there used to be a gas station in Kooskia, ID that had great homemade breakfast burritos wrapped in foil.

There's a funny scene in the movie "Return to Me" where the waitress fills a gourmet (not Swiss) bottled water with tap water after the customer rejects tap water in a glass....Had a sister-in-law that we eventually stopped accompanying to any sort of dining establishment (from chains to well recognized fine dining establishments).....almost always sent food back to the kitchen, and treated servers in a uniformly rude fashion. I primarily did new construction but when it came to remodels I would tell my crew that the end goal was to turn chicken shit into chicken salad. When I used to do major remodels on homes I would always say something to this effect when the demo started. There's a good reason a great many LEOs in uniform will not eat in any establishment that they cannot see what's going on in the kitchen.Timely, Dean! Will be passing through Kooskia next week. We're always looking for food!
