Wooooooah. That's a big one.vsadmin now owns The North American Fly Fishing Forum, a site that looks just like WFF did......when will they stop??
Seriously though... If anyone here is active there, get me a few of the "cool kids" and send them my way. We'll collaborate.
I would rather keep our place what it is. Don't want to ruin a good thing. Just like they have their place, which is more east coast centric. But I think it could be a symbiotic relationship.Roll them in here and rename this place. I like to keep it local but would love the opportunity to connect with fly fishers across the continent or globe. Lots to learn. Lots of great fisherman out there. Make this place a super f’ing forum!
Disclaimer: I work full time, I am married and I love to fish! I don’t have time to be on multiple forums let alone Instagram, etc…etc…so may be acting a little selfish with this suggestion.
I'm with Evan on this. Sites could be part of a family, but there's a real value in the "local" aspect.I would rather keep our place what it is. Don't want to ruin a good thing. Just like they have their place, which is more east coast centric. But I think it could be a symbiotic relationship.

Unless anyone offers all three of us "retire to a private island with private jets" money, we'll keep doing what we're doing and not sell out. This community has meant a lot to us over the years, and that's worth a lot to all three of us. So we're motivated just by the thought of losing it. It's easy to want to do it with the mindset we set out with.I hear you and get it with the assumption the goal is love of the medium and community versus asset collection. The latter could lead us down a path the place we ended up at the old place. That said, with the work you all are putting into this, I’d have absolutely have no hard feelings if that’s where we ended up in 15 years.
Being honest, I am not altruistic enough to do what you all have. For that, I am incredibly appreciative. I’d run this place like shit. There’d be a lot of…sorry, didn’t get to that, I was working/out fishing/playing ball with my dog/out to dinner with my wife excuses.
Just do redirects to this site.. create some sub forums to other sections in the US and other places.. no need to create new sites.. just my opinion.. WFF.com had people from all over. No reason this one can't be the same.Roll them in here and rename this place. I like to keep it local but would love the opportunity to connect with fly fishers across the continent or globe. Lots of blogs have a list or sidebar of other friendly blogs links. Could have something like that directing to other friendly regional sites that aren't under the control of the VSborg. Could even be fishing and hunting, other outdoors stuff etc. Just need to infiltrate these 2 recent acquisitions and see if anyone wants to build their own forum.Just do redirects to this site.. create some sub forums to other sections in the US and other places.. no need to create new sites.. just my opinion.. Their forum is much larger from my recollection. It could potentially throw off the balance. Like I said, multiple sites that are related would be a better way to keep the local aspect, which is what has contributed to the longevity here.Just do redirects to this site.. create some sub forums to other sections in the US and other places.. no need to create new sites.. just my opinion.. I've pretty much stuck to WFF.com, SpeyPages and a few others.. only so much time in the day! Now your site and you've done a great job so quick! Need to buy up site names, and then see what happens.. I'll continue to be a supporter of this site and help out as much as I can!Their forum is much larger from my recollection. Whatever action we take on this will not be majorly noticed by PNWFF
I wouldn’t be interested in this. Keep it local. This forum is a community of fly fishers we occasionally meet and sometimes fish with.Roll them in here and rename this place. I don’t care what flies work or what the water conditions and river flows are like in an area outside of the PNW.
There are other sites or online resources I can get that information from when needed.
