What's Catching You Fish?

Was a bit wounded after a basalt stone I thought was good gave out climbing out of the river at one point.

Ouch! Tom, that must have hurt!
Try a pair of these for wet wading, or over waders to protect them too...
what a difference tariffs make, ouch!
Or maybe something like these

Thanks, it's a favorite, kind of a cool semi off the radar american made reel, I've never had any problems or issues with it over alot of years of use, knock on wood...
I've had mine for years. Stupidly used it in the salt (the new ones are salt ready, but not the ones with the silver metal bumper, which traps salt under it) and the owner sent me all new parts to fix it. I like the multiplier feature, too.

I may have to buy another one. And @Zak is right, they do fly under the radar, but the thing is built tough.

A week ago my fly club had an outing to a flyfishing only Cascade lake that is over-popultated with brookies. In the interest of community service, we bonk as many as possible and have a big fish fry. A fast strip Carey is my go to...

Wow, I was expecting 5” fish with big heads and skinny bodies, but those brook trout look to be in decent condition.

I caught over 50 and the biggest was barely 11 inches. It sure seems like the typical fish is getting smaller over the last few years. They are delicious though, especially in the fall.

Must be one of those mini-pails, not a 5-gal bucket! Messing with my perspective… ha
