My executive chef just paid 20$/lbs for live dungeness. I informed him he just paid 50$/crab, for fucking crab you have to crack. With your hands.

I ran the math, dungeness is officially more expensive than king crab when you get down to $/oz of meat.

It was fine with me.

Yes.Not allowed to use metal rake for crabbing in BC. I made this out of a plastic spatula and ran it by fisheries officer. He said fine, as it is flexible and doesn't harm crabs.
