Definitely should buy a lottery ticket......A sow with cubs is nothing to mess with. Once again though, it is humans encroaching on the animals environment where typically it is the animal that comes out the loser. Glad they are ok and that had DFWG has decided to leave the bear alone.

As busy as Mt Si is, I wouldn't expect a bear encounter. Pretty freaky outcome, even for a sow with cubs. I'm glad WDFW decided not to euthanize the bear.

I’m glad that they didn’t euthanize it either especially having cubs. They were going to euthanize it but they weren’t able to find it.

I saw a bear on trail one of 3 times I hiked it and have friends that live in the area that often have issues with bears, especially ransacking garbage bins. I'm not surprised by the encounter, but it sucks for all parties involved.

Lots of bears up there, I used to live by the old Little Si trailhead, and prowled around that area a lot.

Yeah apparently the Mt Si Rd bears have learned the garbage schedule, and hang out in the woods on garbage day just out of sight, because even if people roll the cans out an hour before the truck usually comes, that’s enough time for them to raid the garbage. And, the vendor won’t supply wildlife proof cans for some reason. It’s not a recipe for successfully living with wildlife.

Damn you Paige, you drop these teasers and then just leave us hanging... :D gonna throw down the ante here... the Mt Si Experience is probably not even in the "Northwest Backroads- Top five Trippin' with Paige " stories

Let's see, a few other memorable trips...

Halloween on mushrooms, friend didn't have a good time, I did though!

Acid trip on New Years Eve, so many things happened that night! haha

Acid trip in the hills outside Duvall, a friend freaked out right as it hit me, had to drive him home, the TREES the TREES 🤣

Acid tip at home when I called the cops. A friend droped the cop on the hood of his patrol car, he ended up hog tied barking like a dog in the back of said patrol car, very long story...
Cops- "are you Ok"
Me- "yes, I'm great, my frind lost it. Can you turn your lights off" late 80s when the digital strobe lights came out 😱
Cops- "No we can't. Anyone else in the house"
Me- "no" as the door opens and a girl friend yells to leave him alone
Me- "well, there 2 girls in the house"

Mt Si trip, last 1/3 down was in the dark!!!

There was others, but these were the most entertaining ones, that I can remember 😆

I like stories like those...

Makes me feel better about my own 'stories'

And not so alone with them....

Ever climbed to the top of a crane...while blazing ?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

There are a lot of bears in western Washington and are very active this time of year. For instance:

They are in many neighborhoods, including mine.

Updated: Today, bear sighted walking down my driveway (Renton Highlands)
