I have jumped on a freight train in NJ back in the 60's as a young teen...not far, and did not sing Woody's "Hobo Lullaby"...nor read "On The Road"...Maybe you've never been a hobo, ridin' the rails (neither have I), nor went through a "Kerouac phase." (uuhhh...guilty)
A friend of mine jumped on a freight train back in high school. We always noticed how the trains slowed down in town and how it seemed like it could be done. Turns out it could. What we didn't think about was how the trains speed up as soon as they get outside of town...and in that town, they didn't slow down again until several counties later.I have jumped on a freight train in NJ back in the 60's as a young teen...not far, and did not sing Woody's "Hobo Lullaby"...nor read "On The Road"...

I'm grilling up a storm this weekend. I was going to do spatchcocked Cornell Chicken this evening, but when I went to Safeway for eggs, bone in rib steaks were half price ($9.99/lb and choice, not prime, but they look pretty good!
So steaks tonight and chicken tomorrow. But I had already planned on baby back ribs tomorrow and they are prepped with rub in the fridge. So I guess chicken and ribs tomorrow! What a meat feast! My parents live nearby, so I'll bring some BBQ over to them (or invite them over here).

We grilled a t-bone last night…steamed artichoke, cauliflower purée, grilled asparagus…almost SalmoG approved…
