Disrespectful attitudes towards wildlife.

Cell phones make it worse. People have always littered what they have to litter and they’ve always imposed themselves on wildlife. It’s why my state doesn’t have an elk or wolf population - those fuckers in the old timey days had no respect for it.

Haole is lucky some local Uncles didn't give him a beatdown.
I first saw it posted on Reddit and it did actually show some locals giving the guy a beatdown at the end. But the way the clip was edited I think it may have been fake.

What’s the big deal? It’s not like it’s sentient.

(Talking about the rock thrower, not the seal)

That does look bad and I don't condone his actions, but we have culling programs while this guys actions are harassing possible injurious. The UDSA kills a million animals annually and says it has good reasons for doing it using steel-jaw leghold traps, wire snares, aerial shooting, and poisonous substances like cyanide bombs.

I think we need to cull some seals and sealions. They are eating our anadromous fish and eating their way up our rivers. Sealoins/seals are over 100miles inland in the Feather river from the pacific ocean eating everything they can all the way! When tides get weird algae blooms make the demoic acid that does not hurt fish but scrambles the brains of these marine mammals who eat those fish taking out the most gluttonous predators. Maybe that's nature's way of culling some marine mammals and we should not interfere with it.

When I was a kid I caught yellow tail and hallibut and fished bonito boils in the redondo harbor. The seals came protected by the 1974 marine mammals act and ate all the fish. I would have a fish on the line and land only the head because the seals would take it. The seals finally left because they ate all the food and now I might only catch a small trash fish or two in the harbor today. Fishing is better elsewhere.

100% agree. The monk seals have almost completely wiped out the Hawaiin steelhead and salmon runs....

Aren't home sapiens considered wildlife?

Appears so, depending on who or what you ask. Ask a bear or cougar...

Amazing how quickly a thread turns from absolute abhorrent behavior by the person in the video to, "yeah, fuck seals".... SMH.

Yup. The ones that float around on their back laughing at you while you're switching flies and wondering why the bass aren't hitting . . . 'Course my hat was off so they might have thought I was Mumbles . . .
