What's Catching You Fish?

This was a fair pairing to start the day, March Brown below a Copper John. No whitefish though:(

Of course I eventually hung them in a tree, so.......BHGRHE from the other day goes on point......

Really don't know why I bother tying anything other than the Hare's Ear.
I've gone 2.9 winters without finding a clipped one. I know, but the wife is excited!

Hell yeah, trevally off the beach!

I was able to get a similar sized one (blue fin) a few years back. Those guys put a nice bend in an 8wt!

Edit- I think mine was smaller. You got a nice one!

Edit 2 - since we’re in the “what’s catching you fish” thread, it was one of the streamers in the middle right side of this box:

Those bluefins are so beautiful. Today’s Jack was a persona best but not a big one obviously- just about on the reel but not quite - they sure do put a nice bend in the 8wt though.

This (as seen yesterday in "What's in your Vise")...

Fish from 6Am to 8AM. At the pool for a Pacifico/Pina Colada/Miami Vice by 9AM! Everyone's happy!

Edited to also add the fly box pic, since, as previously pointed out, this is the "What's catching you fish?" Thread!

Mostly caught them on a calf tail clouser, blue over chartreuse over white (middle left on the left side).

Nice! For the record, pink over white deceiver for me and my fly box is too jumbled from banging around in a sling back for pic :). I was in Costa Rica and fished the beach a few more times. The classics (deceivers, clousers, surf candies) all got bit.

Fat Boy Mullet or Silicon Baitfish patterns when mullet are the prey item. 4/0 Gamakatsu SL12 hook.

Guinean Barracuda. Cubera snapper and jacks like this pattern as well.

A'ight....so begins clarkman's season of what's "almost" catching you fish....

That faux musky slayer as seen on the vise site (I'll grab a pic once I'm in front of a computer) accounted for a couple of follows including his little tiger who following it several times while I was wading a shallow part of the lake... probably a low 30 inch fish.

Even faux muskies get torn up by faux sex....

a'ight, it's this one that I fished about half the time and moved all of the fish I moved....
