Here’s a DIY I’ve used in the past with my Grizzly when on moving water.

It’s a piece of 1 7/8” PVC I picked up at our local ReStore.
It was initially made for my 9’ 5 & 6 wt rods and will fully protect them when broken in half.
As you can see, it’ll hold my 6 wt switch but would need to be a bit longer to fully protect the rod.
On the raft, I secured it under the two oar straps

with the long end extending over the back.
On the Grizzly, the PVC tube would slightly restrict/inhibit vertical oar movement at the pin, but nothing too bad for me. Haven’t tried it yet with the Kodiak.
