Official 2026 MLB Discussion Thread

I think they want consistency and accuracy.
Get rid of the blatant human error.
Reportedly fans and many players (hitters) like ASB's potential for improved accuracy in balls and strikes calls, and players prefer the use of the challenge system, but not full-time balls & strikes calls.

Pitchers and Catchers, not so much; it takes framing out of their toolkit.

I just watched some highlights from last night's game. The Yankees know the strike zone better than the umpire.

Hell of a defensive game by the Angels right fielder.

Three, count them, 3 stolen home runs in one game - never been anything like it, no one's ever seen it before, everybody's talking about it ...

Go Royals

Are you saying he single handedly obliterated any chance the M's had to win that game?

Yes. Adell caught 2 potential homeruns, ones above the homerun line on a high wall, in right field (Rodriguez type in center field) . Then caught a third homerun well over the lower fence in right field falling into the stands while maintaining control of the ball giving up his body to do so.

Pretty amazing!

Well, at least they're not the Mets:

Those amazing young Royals snapped an 8-game losing streak, despite having one of the best starting rotation ERAs in baseball. They seemed to have lost in every way possible; late-inning collapses, blowouts, but last night the ball literally bounced their way, with a walk-off run-scoring wild pitch.

Not a lot of posts about Mariners either...

OK here's one. If the meat of the Mariners order, Cal, Naylor, Julio and Arozarena have more games like today, a combined 10 for 18 with a Cal HR, the M's will probably be in the mix.
