Seeger watch

We had pretty strong winds for a while out here on Novelty Hill in Redmond. Nothing like some of you had though! Power flickered for a while, but stayed on! They've been keeping the above ground lines clear of trees much better for the last 5 years or so..

Hey guys, I dropped my Fish Cat stripping basket on the trail last Sunday. It’s the kind with the plastic legs inside the basket. I’m wondering if anyone is still over there and might be able to grab it, especially if you happen to live near Seattle.

It’s a long shot, but I figured I’d ask before I go buy a new one. Thanks!
I saw it blow by my house yesterday in Burien!

Snow falling on cherry blossoms.

So.... yesterday woke up to passes closed, and snow on the top of the ridge with light graupel. We were the only ones left at the lake, saw @dep on Wednesday (you made the right choice it was WHITE CAPPING when we pulled the boats) I had to get home to travel to funeral, SO... around I drove! Trip took about 8 hours with pee and fuel stops. Then the last leg of drive (30 minutes) had slash on road home, and 10 minutes later the plow truck comes through haha.

Anyway, report to come, but short answer, lake was fishing pretty well, water temp was rising (have a theory about no ice on lake), fish were fighting stronger.

(PS... I ask kindly to the person (using kind words) stop clipping fins to see if you caught the fish before - I heard the comment and caught your clipped fish - stop! We all know we are catching the same fish if your catching well!)

So after they dumped in the small fish, what was the average ratio of sizes? Long drive for small trout now….

Glad you made it back safely.

That’s a massive clip! Way bigger than necessary for any reason, and that’s a really dumb reason. I’ll say it:

My sampling is much smaller than Shawn's, but while it sucks to go all that way to catch 10" trout there are still a lot of 14-16" fish.
My first 10 fish on Friday, March 6th, were my highest avg per 10- 14.1". I keep track on a scratch pad on my phone like this.
Here's the first 10-
15 b
14 b red mid, nothing on bruised
14 b
16 b
14 b
14b
16 b
13 b almost jumped in the boat
11 b
14 b

I only do this at Lenice or when I know it could be a numbers sort of day. If you're too close to me you'll see me release a fish, grab my phone, hit the mic button and say "14 bottom". Haha! I did see one guy wonder what I was muttering. I think I said "17 on the top baby!"
Top being the top fly under a bobber. I did catch a really nice 16" on a hand twist TDC w/ no bobber that was probably in the top foot of water. That was fun.
17 was the biggest fish I caught and I only had one. A guy that put in on Friday just before me caught a 18" as one of his first couple fish. I chatted with him later and he said that was his biggest of the day.
Lots of 14s. I will say, lots of the little guys that were 10-12" were footballs and pretty damn spunky. So that helped. I definitely caught more of them on Saturday than Friday as it seemed they were starting to spread out and get more bitey.

If you were thinking of going, once Snowmageddon is over, I think you'd have a fun time.
