OFFICIAL 2026 NFL SEASON DISCUSSION

No way he can go back now, right? This could get ugly as I doubt anybody else is forking over 2 firsts.... maybe 1 and a day 3 pick.

@Stonedfish is literally our very own Adam Schefter! Always beaking the stories on the site. Someday, somehow, one of us is going to beat you to it!

Ravens blew it...a repaired meniscus is rather routine. 5 time Pro Bowler who had the 2nd most behind the line tackles last year behind Myles Garrett while playing two less games for an older Hendrickson with far more guaranteed money on the contract...

They knew all this going in. They realized they overpaid and quickly pivoted to signing Hendrickson.

The Jets just rescinded the trade for Geno.
They had turnover remorse.
Just kidding, but that would be hilarious if it happened on top of the nixed Crosby deal.
Raider nation would implode. 😂

Crosby is a better player with a much better contract. There is no guarenteed money after this year. A team can cut him and save 30Mil in cap space and real $ whenever they'd like.

The two first rounders were too much for the Ravens though.

They are staring down salary cap purgatory due to Jackson's contract. I think they see those picks and the afordable players that they represent as far too valuable at this point. They also could represent Lamar's replacement while they eat the cap space over one year like the Dolphins are doing.

The Raven’s just reworked Jackson’s contract which freed up almost 40 mil in cap space.
It seems odd they didn’t do that before the start of free agency like other teams did to free up or reduce their cap. They’ll still need to do a new deal with him though but his $74 mil against the cap would have been crazy.

I guess all that's left is where Kirk Cousins signs his next 100 million dollar contract to sit on the bench.

Daniel Jones gets 88 million, that could be 100 with incentives.

He's going to out earn Kirk Cousins.

They gotta pay the piper at some point. They negotiated the ability to restructure at ttheir will in his contract. So, they only restructure the amount that they want to. It seems like they made the determination as to how much to restructure very recently.

Jackson's dead money hit is piling up in 27, 28 etc. Florio does a good job explaining it here: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...-right-to-restructure-lamar-jacksons-contract
