We were in moses lake for a hockey tournament over the weekend - took my boys to RF (they'd never been). My oldest commented several times about how cool the red wing blackbirds were. They were very active and really vocal. My sure sign we are just a week away from "spring" is the Red Winged Blackbirds show back up and SIGN like crazy!!
Also, the warm weather last year the first frog songs have been heard!
I hiked through some of the shrub steppe country a bit south of RF yesterday and could hear meadowlarks calling; one of my favorite spring birds. We were in moses lake for a hockey tournament over the weekend - took my boys to RF (they'd never been). A deep hunger for live worms?Went out to take the pup for a walk this afternoon here in PA and there were about 2 dozen robins scrounging around in the front garden. The first of the year. I'm hoping they know something I don't know.
