What you watching. πŸ˜†

I’m guessing a few of you grew up with Marlin and JimπŸ‘‡

Ha!…memories of Jim rolling around in muddy river wrestling with a big β€˜ole snake….good times 😁

Yup. I remember watching it with my folks. My Mom would mock how Marlin pronounced the capture stick Jim was always hanging off the landrover. "Don't ride your bike past the park, or we'll come after you with the capchoor stick."... Just realizing this now, but pretty sure her watching it was more about Jim, than the wildlife.

β€œTrain Dreams” with Joel Edgerton on Netflix is worth every minute. Kind of dark but intense.

Just watched this. Ended 10 minutes ago. If you liked the 2007 movie The Assassination Of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, you’ll enjoy this movie. Very similar stylistically. If you have not seen either, I’d start with The Assassination of Jesse James first before going to this. Both are good but the James movie is better IMO.

Also recently watched Adolescents on Netflix. Show was ok story wise. Pretty cool how it was shot though. Very unique.

I'm going to have to chase that down. Wild Kingdom was a huge part of our family TV routine

I used to love watching Wild Kingdom...and always would chuckle when Marlin would say "watch Jim tangle with..." from the comfort of the studio. Wild Kingdom & Daktari probably influenced my first 4x4 purchase, a '74 Series 3 Land Rover...in which I used to hum the Daktari theme song while driving it (it had no radio)...

I don't follow this thread all that much so if this has been discussed recently, disregard...if not, well...read on....

My wife and I saw this yesterday πŸ‘‡ and I'm still thinking about it today.

What a powerful movie. I'm no Shakespeare buff, in fact, quite the opposite...and for about the first third of the movie, I didn't realize which character he was since his role was secondary. However, the lead actress, Jessie Buckley, is amazing. I could go see it again, just to watch her.

I won't blather on in case anyone decides to check it out.

and know it's not a feel good movie by any stretch......go figure, I guess, it's Shakespeare and therefore a tragedy...whodathunkit ;)

This is on my wife's must watch list...another one that was on her list we watched the other night...Train Dreams...it was also excellent, taking place in the Pacific NW...

I'm a big fan of the Game of Thrones series, so I was pretty excited about the new show that premiered a couple of weeks ago. "Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". Clearly, the writer of the show has some sort of bathroom functions fetish. At the beginning of the first episode, we get to see, in graphic detail, a dude taking a violent liquid shit. The next episode, an old man walks out of his cottage naked with a MASSIVE swinging dong, grabs it in his hand and proceeds to take a piss. None of this is relevant to the story, just thrown in for shock value. The funny thing is, aside from the shock value stuff, it's a great show so far.

I was also a fan of Game of Thrones (no other show elicited a "that person needs to be killed")...only have seen the first episode so far, and yes, was taken aback a bit by the dude behind the tree with his arse hanging out in full glory
