NFR Superb Owl 2026: Seahawks vs Patriots (official thread)

Non-fishing related
One of my friends is a higher up for Nike and she got to go to the Superb Owl between the Eagles and Chiefs a couple years ago on company dime. She said it was the time of her life. The celebrities and swag were off the charts. She got to take selfies with Jalen Hurts who was very friendly to fans in the stands after the game and she walked by some major celebrities. She said it was the time of her life. I imagine if the Hawks win and you can get down to the field you would be able to get some high fives and selfies with them. She wouldn’t pay $10K for ticket though.

oh I'm a huge fan of watching at home. It's just kinda neat to "be there" when some of the big games happen. It's an experience that's so different from watching at home that I have a hard time comparing it.
Sports, concerts and stage theatre are the best in person.

Thanks for reminding me that there are concert tickets I want to buy that go on sale at 10.

I burnt out on concerts back in my early 20s. After being in touring bands, working in/owning a recording studio, and just being surrounded by that world 24/7 for a few years, the magic more than disappeared. Only concerts I've really gone to in the last 15yrs or so have just been to see friends' bands that are coming through on tour and offered me tickets to come hang out.

I'll actually be going to my first BIG (at the Moda Center in Portland) concert in as long as I can remember (at least 20ish years) in 2wks. I wish I was more excited about it than I am, but buying tickets seemed like a good idea at the time.

I love live music, especially live music. It is an escape unlike anything else.
I greatly prefer small venues to large. I prefer inside to outside as well. There is something about feeling the music.
I hope that the show that you see is fantastic.

I used to feel the same way, which is why I got into the music industry to begin with. But to say I crashed and burned would be an understatement. Never was able to reignite that passion. I enjoy music on my own time, in my vehicle mostly. But that's about it.

I've been to 3 Seahawks games, courtesy of a friend who held season tickets. Two at the King Dome and one the season that the Hawks played at Husky Stadium - musta' been when they rebuilt the King Dome ceiling. What I learned is that I'd never pay that kinda' money to see any sporting event and that I can't see what's going on on the field from a half mile away. TV just works well for me; affordable and I can see where the football is. At the in person games I couldn't really tell if there was a ball on the field.

Make sure you have the PLUNGER ready and you get that toilet system ready for SUPER BOWEL MONDAY coming in after Soper Bowl Sunday.

I'm guessing Ghost and not Cardi B.....but I could be wrong.

Ghost...... They're almost as bad as Creed and Nickelback. Imo.

The Seahawks kick it so well. They cover. Their secondary is so fast. The defesive linemen resemble bengal tigers with their speed and strength.
JSN is better than anyone in the AFC. It will be impossible for the Patriots to cover him, especially with Darnold thowing to him. Damn is Darnold great. The Seahawk backs are superior and the O-line opens up holes the size of an SUV.
The Patriots are just lucky that everything has broken their way this year.

Keep the faith . Remember Eli against Tom , twice :)

They're admittedly a guilty pleasure. Enjoyed them since they started almost 20yrs ago. Unlike your other examples, Ghost REALLY doesn't take themselves seriously, and a big part of their schtick is meant to be ridiculous and tongue-in-cheek. They're very much a performance act and lean into that very hard.

I saw pictures of the band before I heard their music. I thought "this looks kinda fun" and expected something akin to doom metal. Then I heard them. The look and the music does not match up. :ROFLMAO:

They're definitely fun, just have to switch the expectations a bit. I never did expect them to grow so much to the point of doing arena shows, but it definitely "caught on."

There really is no comparison to enjoying a football game in person, especially if you are the home team. Jumping to your feet as a collective when your team's receiver gets behind the safety and breaks off a long one to the house is hard to replicate from the couch...I had season tickets for many years at Aloha Stadium watching my Hawaii Warriors...flew to Oakland & LA several times a year for decades to watch my Raiders...and have been to two Super Bowls...

Definitely "no comparison," but I still love watching at home. Just two very different experiences with the same source material.

I agree. I love going to games, but I also like to be able to see the first down and scrimmage lines and replays/challenges. Plus, the beer is waaaay cheaper.

Go and enjoy the show. Music is subjective. It can be very personal.
I just heard of ghost the other day when I met a dude going to the same show. He was pretty hyped. Good for him.
My recent most favorite band gets shit on all the time. It strikes me as very odd to be concerned with someone else's musical taste or shit on anyone else's music. Why bring negativity into something that is so positive?
