New license time

Thank you for the reminder.

Thanks. I just renewed mine online the other day. Probably won't arrive until after the 1st. So I'm going fishing or Oregon again, where the license is on the calendar year.

Thanks. I bought mine at the office (Natural Resources Building) and bought mine on Tuesday. All WDFW offices are now open to the public (since 3/21)

At 70 it's now the least expensive fishing license I've ever purchased....which is the sole advantage of being 70.

Rest assured that every year I'll crow about it just as Old Man does about Montana's low license fees. It's about all we have to crow about. 😁

My first two years here in Montana I got a free license. I paid 8 bucks which I was refunded both times. All I need in those days was the Conservation permit.

The last two Governor's thought they had to make all the Old People pay for their fuck ups.

If I make the move to Florida, I will crow about not having to pay for a fishing license for fresh or salt water once I hit age 65

It's a yearly license in Oregon so the first day of the new year is when you should buy your license --- even if you don't use it all year at least you got your monies worth.

(I can't really complain about the cost of a fishing license ... because I'm an ol' native Oregonian it only costs 6 bucks ... but it was once free so I guess I can complain a little.)

Interesting. IIRC buying online allows you the option to print out a temporary license until the official license comes through the mail.

Yeah, this is true (in theory). From the WDFW website:

When buying online or by phone, it may take up to 10 days to receive your license in the mail. If your WILD ID has an email address associated with it, you will be emailed a temporary license to use for that 10-day period.

Similar to my Ohio all-inclusive at a fraction of WA license, so cheap I bought a 3yr.

Of course that offsets my outa state $85 WA license that I use twice a year 🤔

Got my new WA licenses for 2022. Let's hope the salmon seasons aren't shortened too much. Alaska is a good option this year again, BC is on the menu too.

I did print out the temporary license, but there is no temporary punch card. So technically, even though I would be CNR steelhead fishing, I'm not supposed to be doing that without a valid punch card, even when it is illegal to retain steelhead.

Shit…. Thanks for the heads up! I just ran to BiMart and got all my licenses and tags. I can’t believe that slipped my mind. I’m going out tomorrow!

No steelhead either, so you're good to go.
;)
