The problem is not taking it out of the oven…its when its on the stovetop and i forget it just came out of the oven…
I leave a potholder on the handle, to remind me not to just grab it! Now when I use the cast iron on the grill, that won't work, when I'm doing something that makes a lot of smoke!
 
Chinese Hot Pot Christmas dinner:

Broccoli, bok choy, cauliflower, noodles, fish balls, rib eye steak, pork belly, sprouts, mushrooms, rice, chicken meatballs, green onions and 8 different dipping sauces. I am sure there was more, you get the drift tho...
 
I made traditional scratch Spanish paella for family Christmas dinner. Made my own stock with celery, onion, fennel, chicken bones, shrimp shells, garlic, peppercorns, thyme, etc..

I used chicken thighs, scallops, squid, shrimp tails, manila clams, asparagus, peas, onion, garlic, Roma tomatoes, saffron, and bomba rice.

Turned out great for my first attempt.

I was going to make this Christmas, but didn't feel like cooking and snacked too much of the day! Kind of butchered the lobster and the tinfoil had a small hole in it and butter melted out. Made a nice unintended fire.. it will be cleaned up before I use it again.. the grill that is. Everything was tasty though! Cheers! Happy Boxing Day!
