I remember that day vividly. Walked outside, could smell the pine, hemlock, fir tree smell and hear the loud crackling of the needles.

Some trees lost a lot of needles, others did not live very long..

118 is no bueno...

It was something to remember, for sure. I tried to fry an egg on a cast iron griddle I let lay in the sun for a long time. It didn’t really work. There was certainly no satisfying sizzle.
I think it was a good thing for cold water fisheries that we had a pretty good snowpack that year that was still hanging in there in June when the heat dome hit. The rivers and streams didn’t cook, for the most part. A lot of the fresh evergreen growth got singed, though, and some herbaceous plants got fried, etc. That was pretty nuts when you think about it. Less of that, please and thank you.

Liked your input. So much more can be said, staying away from climate change is hard. TYVM for not going there.

Agree with you: Less of that. Please and Thank You.

I'm going to make a call here. I'm locking the thread. This thread because of the direction of some of the comments is ripe to head down into politics and mud slinging.

A lot of us myself included come to this forum to step away from the shit of this world and the doom scrolling effects on our mind from social media.

We hear this comment a lot and I want to protect that. I think it's what seperates us from the rest.
