Had to head south to do a some family stuff so I fished for a bit beforehand. Ended up getting a few. Nice day on the water.

I wish I had the time to head south. Local disappointed as usual despite one fish jumping. I’m not sure if my bad luck there has to do with the restoration project damaging the cutthroat population or the switch from spoons to fly making my catches more proportionate with the population

There are fish around in the north sound at this time of the years. It’s just slim pickings compared to down south. If you don’t have the time to drive all the way down to MA 12 or 13, maybe consider MA 11.

Yes MA 11....
That is the way
🙂

This is from my friend's property on Oyster Bay, about 0.75 miles from Kennedy Creek. It's really quite a spectacular location.

After the tide came in we went out in the canoe. I saw a few Cutts jump, and there were lots of Chum around; none of which were in a bitey mood. Is there any secret to getting them to eat?

Can you walk on those flats at lower tides or are they sink in type mud?

You'd better not! There is about 10-15' of relatively solid bottom, then nothing but boot sucking mud. I once watched a mother and juvenile river otter run across the mudflat and every thirty feet or so the mother did a toboggan slide just for the fun of it.

That firm 10-15 feet looks like it could be magical there fishing wise on a higher tide.

Helped a friend who is getting into fly fishing.
I’d be a terrible guide. I’m just not very good at giving instructions. 😉 😂
We got into a few.

Phil try a small California Neil in chartreuse or pink.

Been bumming around the north sound for a few days camping and fishing different spots. Tied these up last night, got a couple small ones and missed a couple this morning on the chartreuse bugger thing before being blown off the beach. Middle one is an attempt at the Stonedfish cuttie clouser, gonna fish that this evening. Left side is just random stuff stacked. I've managed a few fish each day on various patterns with chartreuse over white and a bit of flash.

Hadn’t planned to fish today, but after sitting on my ass all day yesterday watching college football, I couldn’t do that again today and needed to get out.
Kind of windy with some dirty water and lots of floating crap from our recent weather. There were a decent number of fish around. Fished three beaches starting at 8:30 and called it a day at 2:00.
