Concrete plant action is heating up!
Launched with my son at midday, the perfect fishing time for brownline action, as good as any time to get some solid North winds. Plus, noon launch guarantees harsh sun angles for the kind of Concrete Plant images that would no doubt "Pop."
Before we launched though, a surprise, a nice Lady from NOAA was conducting a survey on kayak/fishing access in Seattle and fishing opportunities. Many of the questions revolved around toxic waste!
Noah Survey lady: Would we fish here or kayak here more if there was no toxic waste?
Boot: Absolutely! But even if there was toxic waste we would still kayak here, and fish here, have you seen the concrete plants around here? Stunning... plus.... Ospreys!
Noah Survey lady: Ok.... next question...
Anyway here's the photo essay!
Vegemite hat, meet vegemite-themed crane

Hot day meant a shady spot for this missus, looks sorta pristine, no? I mean you could mistake this for the Cedar river...

Here's the perch context...A stunning view of a bunch of moored up Vegemite cranes, you don't see those on the Cedar!

First Concrete plant

First plant with frameable "wish you were here" preset photo manipulation, PM me if you want high res on this baby! Also, this probably should be Matt B's next canoe in front of Rainier backdrop photo...

Second plant with tugboats that got monster truck style elevated cabins!

Solo caspian tern @Matt B !

Plant number 3

Osprey nest #1

Figured the title for this one should be really concrete: "two ospreys and concrete plant #3"

Osprey and crow on nesting platform at concrete plant #3

If you like ospreys and concrete plants, here's a different view of the crow and the osprey with the "wish you were here" preset postcard treatment!

Not every shot is a winner. Then again you ever notice in say photojournalism there can be a shitty blurred photo of the main character and it's passed off as legit? Well this is an example of that technique, only this was not intentional photojournalism quality, I just lucked out with nailing that technique!

As for brownlining? Plenty of fish, flies were way outperforming hoochie

Another Osprey nest up on the lightstack

Super fun day!
