The 2025 NFL Season Discussion

The Eagles win rate on the goal line last season was 87% vs the 71% NFL average.
Unsurprising when the ass shove is executed by a compact QB with the legs of a lineman behind the biggest O-line in NFL history with an average size/weight of 6'6 x 338#.
Want to stop them at the goal line? Better find and sign some monster nose guards and tackles.
Or not let them get within 1 yard of the goal...

Sounds like the vote meeting got interesting.

All I'm reading is this....

try stopping it first.

I honestly don't care about the Eagles one bit, but this is just plain silly....stop the damn play. Seems pretty simple. I mean so many teams try to do it, but the Eagles are just head and shoulders above everyone else at actually executing the play because of reasons mention above (and ad nauseum across the interwebs)

ya know, come to think of it, I think it should be illegal for Pat Mahomes to play QB, they should outlaw that cause he's just too good. I mean, how many conference championship games has that guy been to since he's been starting? oh yeah, every single one. probably should make a rule that he plays defense too.

This is a none issue being made into an issue that isn't by those who can't - it is also transient., ie, as soon as there is turnover in the Eagles' line or Hurts gets hurt, Eagles will regress to the mean. Either change the pushing rule back to what it was or leave as is, don't make a new rule for oneparticulasr type of pushing, that's just dumb!!! As mentioned, just stop them before they get 1 yard short!!!!

... and this is coming from a fan of the team that got blown out by Philly.

Go Chiefs!!!

The crying and rule changes are an owner issue. The Jerry Jones' of the world will try to force a rule change every time a team fnds a way to gain an advantage.
It's been happening for years. No surprise that the Cowboys and Colts are not on that list that voted for it.

When the Pat's had physical man corners and were eating up the Colts, the Colts pushed for expanded illegal contact rules. The Raven's pushed for a rule change after the Pat's got them confused when they had backs declare as ineligable. Leaping over the line was disallowed due to Jamie Collins blocking a kick (Eagles proposal). They re-wrote the catch rule after the Pat's steeelers etc. They even used the new rule in the Super owl (Ertz catch) prior to it actually being implemented.

Philly is the best team in the league. The loser franchises (Ie. Colts/ Cowboys) will try to do what they can to take them down via rule change. I'm glad it did not pass. If you don't like it, learn to stop it.

A rule change allowing the defense to push would be great and make sense rather than what was proposed.

One month till training camps are going, and Humpies will be going also.
Fun fact:
If Pete Carroll can put together 3 winning seasons he will be the most successful Raider coach in the last 20 years...

Interesting graphic that showed up in one of my feeds. I’m a bit disappointed with who is number one in win percentage. 😂

No idea!
They should add the Mariners right below the Broncos at .540 so there are two teams without titles.

A lot of good/great years in the last century (same with Dallas) ...

The Superb Owl Era....
