PNW Fly Fishing Semi-Official Swap, Shop, Fish & Eat - May 17, 2025

I plan on driving down Saturday morning and heading home Saturday evening. Assuming I can get it in my schedule, I want to bring a couple loaves of sourdough bread and some sourdough chocolate chip cookies.

I’ll probably be on a similar schedule to Evan. I’ve got family obligations Sunday and it’ll be better if I’m home in the morning.
I don’t know what the heck to do for food, at least to share. I’m feeling pretty crunched and want this to be more fun than a whole bunch more stuff on the list.

A few bagged salads from Costco might be welcome.

Yeah possibly. But just for my own sake, hopefully not too late. Largely because 8pm is my typical bed time, and I need to drive home Saturday night ;)
My typical bedtime is midnight😅

How about a potluck dinner at 6pm on Saturday?

Sounds like maybe people should be prepared to meet their own nutrition needs, with some stuff to share for fun and camaraderie.

Salad stuff, bagged or not, is quite do-able. Good suggestion, thanks. But f*ck going to Costco. I told you I’m trying to bring stress levels down, not up. My BP goes up 10 points just thinking about the Costco parking lot.

This is what Instacart is for. We use it almost exclusively for Costco. Whatever extra we pay is worth it for time, sanity, and my wife not browsing the aisles and dropping things in the cart.

I think I'm already going to Costco this week, if so I can grab a few.

Gig Harbor Costco in the afternoon is chill. I can usually get gas and my list items (no browsing and I am now where everything is) and be on my way home in under 40 minutes.

We do this, too, but it's like once every two or three months, not every time my buddies get a hankerin' for some bagged salad and a rotisserie chicken.

ohhhhh....gotta get wifey on this plan!

Oh, and I’ve got about six very basic tying vises I could bring to the swap if anyone wants. Some ridiculous vegan parents went on a rampage and killed our school’s fishing club, and so far no fishing charity/nonprofit wants them.
I could use them. Basic is perfect for newbies.

@Zak
I can't make it (Mayfly obligation) but if you need firewood, we have about 20X as much as we'll ever burn in the solo stove in a lifetime. We end up having a tree or two come down every couple years, and Joe loves splitting it. Smaller stuff for kindling, also.
You're welcome to come by and grab as much as you like for this. Just LMK!

That's so generous! I'll come by and pick up some wood on my way down on Friday (or pick it up in advance if that works better for you). I'll reach out to you directly. Thanks again and I'll raise a cup to you by the fire!

If we need ice for anything, I have the technology to load up however many hundreds of pounds we may need. Anyone want some? Or do I just need to ice my own coolers?

Dang you have the capacity for hundreds of pounds now?

I'll pack my cooler with ice on the way down. But more ice never hurts. I'm trying to figure out how to transport a bunch of wood in my car and or boat.

Heads up the the weather people are predicting showers friday and saturday. Gear up appropriately! I'm bringing some tarps.
