What Are You Eating?

Anyone ever tried this? Sounds delicious!

Also, random, but does anyone want to post a good recipe for homemade tortilla's? I like the ones I buy, but know homemade ones are much better!

Looking through this food thread made me proud of y'all. Just got out of Rehabilitation on the 18th, food was not bad for a regular person, but not for diabetics, we are outnumbered, only was given a smaller serving that was to go to the housed people. In other words, Institutionized food. I just ate what is ok with diabetics, avoided the white stuff, bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. Those desserts were too much for me to pass up. Thank goodness for Libre 3+, my fingertips survived to hunt and peck out this response. I see food made from scratch which is the way it should be. Less salt, low amount of liquids for getting the liquid "fat" out of this body, even though the blood sugar spikes were on occasion, didn't need the fast-acting Humalog insulin most of the time. Don't eat red meat most of the time, but the way y'all prepare it looks tempting! Monday afternoon should be my first Meal-on-Wheels meal. Sucks to be a one-armed bandit that is stuck in a wheelchair because the left leg is not wanting to work. Will be still getting physical therapy here at home. Carry on with the cooking and food that I am drooling over, Cheers! JudyM

Wishing you a speedy recovery, @JudyM !

Tomorrow I will be making a double batch of shrimp fried rice, enough to get through the weekend. The jasmine rice is cooking now and the whole house smells yummy.

Today I shoveled the last of the snow off of the back deck and was able to wheel all of the grills over to the outdoor kitchen. It will be in service next week with ribs done on a big Weber kettle with the Slow 'N Sear insert. Nice to be back in business for outdoor cooking but I did get a lot of use out of my electric Blackstone griddle this winter. It did excellent duty on searing steaks, making big breakfasts with bacon, eggs and hash browns, making pancakes and sausages and quesadillas . I have the gas fired model in the Casa which does all of the usual camp grilling and is easier to use and cleanup than a stove and frying pan. It is finally warm enough to cook outside without an expedition parka and balaclava!

I like those in bloody marys.
Yes...I like my bloodies as a separate food group...pickled everything, including asparagus, green beans, okra...beef jerky, shrimp, crab claws...clam juice, horseradish, hot sauce...

In fact, such a good idea, I'm getting the ingredients today...thank you for the suggestion...may have to make a few Michelada's as well...

I would eat all of the goodies on the bloody Mary.. and then hand over the bloody Mary to someone else.. just not my thing! Maybe put all of the goodies over a margarita, old fashioned, Kentucky mule, Manhattan or something else for FlyBill! Just a glass of whisk(e)y!! LOL!
