Looking through this food thread made me proud of y'all. Just got out of Rehabilitation on the 18th, food was not bad for a regular person, but not for diabetics, we are outnumbered, only was given a smaller serving that was to go to the housed people. In other words, Institutionized food. I just ate what is ok with diabetics, avoided the white stuff, bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. Those desserts were too much for me to pass up. Thank goodness for Libre 3+, my fingertips survived to hunt and peck out this response. I see food made from scratch which is the way it should be. Less salt, low amount of liquids for getting the liquid "fat" out of this body, even though the blood sugar spikes were on occasion, didn't need the fast-acting Humalog insulin most of the time. Don't eat red meat most of the time, but the way y'all prepare it looks tempting! Monday afternoon should be my first Meal-on-Wheels meal. Sucks to be a one-armed bandit that is stuck in a wheelchair because the left leg is not wanting to work. Will be still getting physical therapy here at home. Carry on with the cooking and food that I am drooling over, Cheers! JudyM
