Visiting my old stomping grounds, and Creekside has a special place in my heart! I took my first FF 101 class, tying class for sea run cutthroat and fished with Seth Taylor who worked there many years ago. The location has moved, but I think they've found there spot for the foreseeable future!

Danny, the owner at Formula Brewing, is excited to have us in his place! Great beer and pizza and this will be like #1, come in and contribute about $20. We'll order pizza for the group and the first round will be included. After that, we're all on our own. Maybe we'll start of with a sampler, and have Danny lead us through the beers or one of his great staff members can do it.. hell I can too.

This location has plenty of room, so please tell me in the thread if you're going to make it. I'm trying to give everyone plenty of time to decide and clear their Tuesday evening. No matter the size, I'm planning on going and chilling!

So meet at Creekside Angling @ 5:30pm or so.. look around, lots of stuff we all need! HA! I cast an awesome 4wt last time.. I told Pete I wanted two.. which I actually do..

At 6pm we'll head over to Formula Brewing, next door and get the party started! Pizza, beer and fly tying. Bring you vice, tools and materials.. or buy some stuff next door and tie something fun. I'm probably going to do something steelhead related.. intruder, tube flies or some Speys and Dees! Gotta challenge myself.

While this is for those of us that can tie, or make it look like we can, if you're new to tying or what to check it out come on by! I taught more than a few Tying 101 classes when I worked at Orvis. And like to start people of with a wooley bugger and I'm happy to bring the materials and hooks out to use and tie a few. I personally used Norvise Bobbins, love them, but have enough tools to setup a person or two and am getting a second vise too.. Actually a Norvise, which I love! I use a Regal and love it! So many great options out there!

Last and exciting for me, and hopefully you guys, a friend of mine Jon is hopefully going to be there. He's got some great FF books coming out and has a recent FF story published in Hatch Magazine. Here's the link to see it! Cheers, FlyBill

I hope to get a headcount ahead of time, so if you plan on coming just let me know in the thread. Also post what you're thinking of tying! We can do a theme, but what we tie isn't as important just coming along!

Also check out Jon's story in Hatch Magazine, the link is above! It's fantastic and an easy read. Reminds me of other writers in the world of fly fishing and part 1 is awesome! Part 2 of the story is out and the 3rd and final chapter is coming out soon!

It is locked in on my calendar to attend. If I tie it will be a damsel nymph (my variant). Regardless if I tie or not, it will be shared...

Maybe I can get these two celebrities to join us... LOL!

@flybill and I had lunch at Formula Brewing today. My first time there, too... I live close by and had no clue they even existed. A nice clean, well lit spot with lots of room. Customer service was great too. A nice brick oven much like @Evan B had just crafted but definitely 'broken in'. I am sure @Evan B 's pizzas were better, especially after following that thread. But theirs are good. @flybill and I shared a personal sized pizza and it disappeared quickly once it cooled down some. Spent some time at Creekside Angling next door afterwards, picked up some supplies I needed (dang it). I was actually quite shocked they had what I needed (for my damsel nymph) so I could not pass up the opportunity to spend some $$ there. Note: I have not spent $$ on materials for a number of years but I was running out of some.

IF you get a chance to drop by, please do - even for a few minutes. You will get to know others. Maybe someone to fish with someday.

I remember @flybill saying 'this lemonade is sour'. I had the non-alcoholic lemonade and it was fresh, tasty, sour, and delicious! Have not had lemonade that good in a long time (except when I make it).
It tasted like real lemon, not sugar water with some lemon juice! It was very good, just expected it to be sweeter! I'll get it again, or just make it at home!

The lemonade made me pucker much like when a fish makes you pucker when the fish of a lifetime grabs your fly.

I luv good root bear. A connoisseur actually. They make it there. Then saw it was 5.6 ABV. Never had it that way. Someday....

Just bringing it to the top! It's a while away, 4/8, so plenty of time to clear your calendars! And you don't have to show up right at 6pm.. hope to have a nice group for this!

Planning on the next one down at the Gig Harbor Flyshop fo the south sounders.. on a Thursday, when they have their tying night! If there isn't interest in a south sound location, then Mac & Jacks in Redmond! So vote early and often or at least let me know which spot interests you.. both in April is easy enough to do as well!

One more bump, still a little bit out there! Came across this tying kit on Mud Hole! Would be a nice starter kit, if someone wants to dip their toe in and not break the bank! Cheers!

I don't know if any of the local shops carry this, or something similar... I'm sure you could order it through local shops if you want too. They may have something similar! Carry on!

Getting closer! LFG! Bring it TTT!

Hmmm. Not a tier but love to watch. My wife actually bought me a starter kit from the avid angler which I still have from 20 years ago. Just can’t part with it yet. I tied some flies. Not great. But one I tied caught a rainbow on whidbey’s cranberry lake. 😉

I just don’t have that sit and patience to
Do it. 😜

Come on by, watch us, drink beer and eat pizza! Cheers!

Next Tuesday! Hopefully a few will show up! I'll be in Roslyn and Cle Elum this weekend! Let's do it!
