Took my 12' Sharpes bamboo rod to a cold winter river today. Started out with a midspey but changed to a Barrio switch line and a 12' Type VI sink tip because the shorter Barrio head is a little easier to cast with the 12' rod. It was so cold that my fly froze solid during lunch.

In a yeti and fishpond world I did just fine with a cup of hot soup from my Dad's old Stanley thermos carried to the river in a Frost River waxed canvas knapsack. Old things are good things!
