PNW Fly Fishing Semi-Official Swap, Shop, Fish & Eat - May 17, 2025

Maybe we could talk him into doing one of his full Scottish fry-ups! Mmmmmm.....haggis...

Unfortunately the British butcher in Auburn closed down.

And Breck is referring to a few times I've made a full Scottish fry up. This was at our friend's retirement fishing trip.

Dealt with cats but when it comes to dogs this will be the first. He’s 6 year old. Have some time but the thing about cats they live their lives. Dogs live your life and you do theirs. It’s a bigger commitment and the rewards are awesome 🤩 But there's the dude what you doing moments too 🤣??? It’s like another kid in the family at times. Except they never go off to college.

What's the cat think of haggis?

One thing to keep in mind when the event gets closer: we really need to spread the word to get some others to show up. A bunch of dudes getting together who are all trying to offload gear to other guys trying to offload gear may lead to disappointment 😂

I've shared all over, including Facebook groups and tagged all my fishing friends.

I’m mostly coming to hang out. Eat Jerry’s food. Shoot the shit. Finally meet people in person, etc. Last thing I need is more stuff. But I imagine I’ll come home with some.

That's mostly how I'm looking at it [for me]......probably bring a pile of musky flies to hand out if I can get off my arse and get back to tying. Got a few older rods as well, but nothing high end...although, a couple that I'm bringing cast like butter.

Haven’t seen you since that one tuna trip in what, like 2018 or something?

I’m REALLY going to try to make it for one specific reason. There’s some people I want to meet and go fishing with, but for some reason, I’ve found it’s a lot easier to make plans with people to do something like a fishing and camping trip from a far if you have in fact met them in person. I don’t what it is. Lookin’ at you @Matt B and @Gary Knowels ;).

I certainly don’t need any more gear.

I'm mostly going to eat, drink, and be merry with people I like already and haven't met yet! It will be great to meet people in person!

I don't have that much stuff to bring and I'd
be happy to come home with a similar amount of different stuff.

I'm keeping my rods, probably, but might bring one or two (besides the ones I'm fishing with).

I have a couple alternatives to my vest I that didn't work out for me. I'll bring those. Maybe some knives (sorta fishing related?).

Maybe a tent, maybe an interesting reel. A net or two.

Anyone interested in a collection of nice, but probably a little dated, brown wool sport coats, size 46? Or size 10 shoes and boots? What's the guidance on how fishing related stuff needs to (or should) be?

I'm not planning to turn a profit, but I'll bring some cash in case someone has some gear I like and doesn't want to trade.

I might be able to make it as a day trip...
