Jackery woes!

I recently purchased a new Jackery Explorer 1000 V2, a much updated and more powerful version of my 3 year old Explorer 1000. The new model features 1500 W of power while the old one is just 1000 W. And it charges much more rapidly, is lighter in weight, is the same size and now has the more convenient fold down handle. A lot to like and the cost was actually lower than the old 1000.

I took it on a recent 14 day road trip and since I had plenty of room I brought the old 1000 along also. It was a damned good thing I did because 4 days out the DC output of the new unit failed and it wouldn't power up my Iceco refrigerator which is what I bought it for. No amount of fooling around with it would get it to work although the AC function was unaffected. I swapped it out for the old unit and that ran flawlessly to the end of the trip. Had I not taken the old one the trip would have been considerably more difficult.

Upon returning home I contacted Jackery and tried to get some resolution to the problem but it has been well over a week now and they keep handing me off from one person to another and asking the same questions over and over. They want me to send pictures or movies of the problem but there is nothing to see, it just doesn't work. It is damned irritating to me because so many of the reviews on the internet were by "influencers" that were gifted to them by Jackery for their reviews. I, on the other hand-an old man on a fixed income who paid with his own money and received a faulty unit-keeps getting the runaround and still no word of any attempt on the part of Jackery to own up to the problem. Why these big companies want to stiff their customer base is beyond my comprehension. They give away units to some YouTube personality but can't take responsibility to a paying customer for a faulty product.

If they were just trying to stall me around until I got fed up with their bullshit, it worked. Today, October 8, EcoFlow has their outstanding new Delta 3 Plus model on sale for $629 marked down from $900. It is even more powerful at 1800W than the Jackery and charges faster and employs the latest in battery technology. Not knowing if I will ever get any satisfaction from Jackery I ordered one but probably won't receive it in time for fall camping. Here on the frozen tundra with frequent power outages it is nice to have some backup power on hand to light up those dark evenings in winter when the power fails.

If at some point if Jackery does the right thing I will immediately retract all of this but at the moment it appears that I am just getting jerked around needlessly for something that isn't my fault.

Frankly Ive I'm shocked that you're not one of those Jackery influencers yourself! You've certainly influenced me towards them over the years. Sorry they're not taking care of you, you've been good to them!

The first one was-and is-perfect, worthy of praise.

You should send them your post, most companies are very sensitive to social media and negative publicity; Might light a fire under someone’s ass.

Or send them a link to this thread so they know just how much of a great influencer you are...

I bought an EcoFlow 3 years ago, two months after using it I sold my Jackery while I could still get something for it. I have used the Eco Flow relentlessly and it has never failed me. The quick charge is great and I love that it have more outlets and features than my old Jackery, thus why I sold my Jackery. I am very curious to see how it works for you and look forward to your future review. I hope that it serves you as well as it has me. Good luck and happy camping.

The saga continues. Once again they have asked for a movie or picture of the problem. Hell, I can't even post pictures on here let alone send a movie of a tiny screen that says: E1. To make matters worse today they sent a post saying that my problem had been resolved and to give a rating to the customer service I received. They received zeros for a rating and an emphatic rebuttal to telling me that my issue had been solved. There is no resolution at all and they seem to think that a photo or text can somehow repair a faulty unit.

As the globally leading brand of power stations with 11 years of experience and over 3 million sold it appears that they have become so big that the individual customer no longer matters. I hate being on the receiving end of their arrogant indifference.

You know Ive, posting pictures is NOT hard to do. I don't understand how someone with your background can't figure it out.

I know, it used to be easy for me but now it is like the ancient technology that made megalithic structures possible. It disappeared.

Here's how my wife learned. I told her to just keep pushing buttons until it does what you want it to. You can't break it.

Latest update: Jackery finally called me and seemed to place the blame on the new Iceco refrigerator. I didn't exactly buy that because I ran the fridge on the new Jackery 1000V2 for over a week with no problems at all and 4 days into the road trip when it failed in Yellowstone. So I contacted Iceco to see if they have a history of failures when used with the new Jackery and they do. It seems that the new unit is not compatible with their refrigerators upon startup as the new Jackery limits the current in the DC port and doesn't allow the maximum current or voltage needed for startup. Why it worked at first I don't know and even more I don't know how they produced a new and improved model that is less capable than the old one. These things are made to power up fridges and are used by the over landing community in far more rigorous situations than I will ever expose them to.

Jackery agreed to exchange my unit and are sending me FedX mailers to have it picked up and returned in exchange for a new one. After agreeing to that I heard from Iceco and learned that a new one probably won't work either so now I am trying to get a refund on a product that is only 1/2 alive. At this point it is an expensive paper weight as far as use in the Casa is concerned. Despite all of my research and watching dozens of reviews no mention of this 'gotcha' was ever mentioned and a caveat of some kind should have been issued at some point. I hope they will issue a refund but haven't heard anything yet. Since January 1, 2018 I have made over 680 purchases on line from Amazon alone and have been burned less than 10 times. This one got me despite my best efforts.

Edit: I just checked online at Amazon and the new Jackery Explorer 1000 V2 1500w solar generator that I paid $599 for on July 12 is on sale today for $499! And to that there is a $40 discount with a coupon. There is something wrong with this picture, that works out to just $59 more than the 3 year old out of date model that they are still selling for $400.

I am getting weary from all this crap and will cancel my order for the new EcoFlow as it is not due to arrive until November 21. By then camping and fishing will be over and I'll take my chances for another big sale on Black Friday.
