Welcome. Hope you will contribute. Glad to hear you are ”open to seeing” PNWFlyFishing.com grow. But what does that even mean? Does it mean you considered opposing this forum? If so, why? And what would that look like? If you don’t like it, don’t click.

I just saw your signature. Since you don’t own the URL pnwflyfishing.com, can you explain how you are the owner of the “original”? I’m confused by that. And I’m not on Facebook, never have been and don’t think I ever will be.
 
Welcome. The people here have taught this old dog many new tricks the last few years. Great group here, and looking forward to your contributions as well.

Not to bust your balls or anything, but nobody involved with this forum knew your little FB group existed, so it hasn't "opened any doors" at all.

An obvious and available domain name, an already established and active (for over 20 years) group of people looking for a new home, and a few hard working/talented individuals opened the doors here.

Hope you stick around and contribute.

There are only a few things in this world that I find more irritating than passive aggression, especially vague and unfounded passive aggression. I believe there are a few of us here that feel this way, because this group typically calls it right out.

Oh man I totally agree! Say what you mean. Makes things so much easier.
 
Us three founders have reached out to the FB group members who joined here and would be happy to have them. The forum is open to them for promoting anything they do, and both groups would be better for it.

I don't have Facebook, have it blocked from all my devices, and want nothing to do with it. But our aim is to continue to be a group for everyone.
 
Fb is how i keep in touch with my kids and friends. As long as one keeps a mindful perspective and learns how to block stuff. Plus i have in essence an art gallery their so it works for me.

I'm just curious--why go to the trouble of blocking it from your devices? Assuming you maintain control of your devices, are you worried you may enter a dissociative fugue state and go nuts on FB, only to later come to your senses, full of regret and shame?

Hah, no. I just have major issues with the way Facebook operates, and don't want their trackers/data harvesting tools anywhere near any of my devices. My world is better without FB, and I don't want them making a dime on my info.

That's pretty awesome of you guys! No doubt a quickly growing and active forum like this can help a small FB group out immensely.

I too have avoided FB. Unfortunately I have friends and family who seem to think it's a good forum for politics including one that gets frequently thrown into "facebook jail" whatever the hell that is. I have bigger (and more important) fish to fry. Horrible analogy since I'm a catch and release sort of guy. That's my 2 cents worth.

Well, I do quite a lot of meat fishing in my saltwater game, so I am perfectly comfortable with the analogy ;)

I punched your name into google. But all that came up was that you were on Facebook. I went there to look you up under Groups. They said that you are private. So I couldn't pull anything up. I'm just not ready to join another fly fishing site. I just wonder how many of these folks are on your site??
