Niners now complete, doubt there was ever any worry or rush from management about getting Trent Williams signed, at 36 he'd much prefer to work out at home and forego training camp wear and tear. Niners better take advantage of having the lowest paid starting QB in the league this year, however, cause he's going to get his bag next year. And hopefully Shanahan watched some YouTube video's on OT rules in the off-season...lol
Who is the one that was shot in an attempted robbery? Ricky Pearsall the wide receiver?

you mean the one who was shot while being the victim of an attempted robbery?

The 17 y.o. who committed the crime against him is being charged with attempted murder.

Santa Clara's future is salary cap hell. Last chance!

Most salary cap open right now in the NFL, which rolls over to next year. Purdy's deal won't hit the cap for another 3-4 years.

From The Athletic:
"The 49ers — thanks to Williams’ deal, a recently completed extension for receiver Brandon Aiyuk and Tuesday’s contract restructures for receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. and defensive tackle Maliek Collins — suddenly have over $60 million of 2024 cap space at their disposal.

Though most of that room will roll forward into the 2025 league year, it might also come in handy this season if the 49ers choose to absorb a larger contract as part of an in-season trade."

They have some good young talent(Purdy, Aiyuk, Bosa, Hufanga, Brown, Lenoir, Puni) coming up behind all the older expensive vets. The cap should grow, making these current deals even better as the market grows.

They have a great window the next few years and a solid foundation beyond that. It won't last forever but they do seem to have a good way to handle the cap.

The 2024 cap number has been manipulated to the max by restructuring, but they are presently $41 million in the hole for 2025.

and yet both the 9ers (again) or the Rams will still lose to the Chiefs in the SB....god, that pains me to say.

I'm not even going to pretend to know how the cap works. No normal person should know these things. But from what I understand their cap rolls over to next year, and any new signings should have low cap numbers(except Purdy won't be back at $1mill). Realistically they might lose Deebo but Pearsall hopefully is ready to go by then.

Silver lining of sucking in the early rounds of the draft(think of all the money we saved with the Lance pick!) but hitting so well in the mid-late rounds.

I think the Niners should be better this year, especially their secondary which has always been a weak spot. Considering how close last year was there is hope. Given all the drama I'm guessing a slow start but still get 11 or 12 wins, second seed in the NFC.

I don't believe in a Eagles revival.
Lions are going to be dangerous, but Goff?
GB will be good with Love.
Who else in the NFC?

majority of the pundits rank Niners, Lions, Eagles and Packers as the top 4, well above the rest.
Love impresses, may well prove to be the best QB in the conference

I think the Eagles will be interesting with S Barkley in the backfield...and I can't believe the Giants let him go to a division rival...

Ok…the season officially starts tonight with a great AFC matchup…Chiefs-Ravens, not only a repeat of last seasons AFC Championship game, but possibly a precursor to this seasons same Championship game.

Who do you have as division winners and playoff teams?…here’s mine:

AFC North…Ravens
AFC East…..Dolphins
AFC South…Texans
AFC West…..Chiefs (uggh)
AFC Wildcards…Bengals, Bills, Browns

NFC North…Lions
NFC East…..Eagles
NFC South…Falcons
NFC West…..Niners
NFC Wildcards…Packers, Cowboys, Seahawks

Wrong! So very wrong. 😁

Notice I didn’t include the Raiders too…although they could be a 9-10 win team, sweep the Bolts & Broncos and split with the Chiefs this year and squeak into a wildcard spot…but I’m not betting the house on it.

NFL preseason forecasts only ever rehash the results of the previous season. We won't really know much until late November. The proliferation of sanctioned gambling in football is nauseating, people just lose their money.

Seeing some real games starting tonight should be fun!

Patriots get the #1 draft pick in 2025
:)

Go Seahawks !!!

Do not Go Rams, Niners...
Cardinals are irrelevant.

You keep forgetting... things will never be the same again

The LA RAMS will soon be the most valuable franchise in the NFL.
