2/4 this morning, both 5-6lb fish. Good to get the skunk off and get my drag going a a little bit Ignore the cork on my rod.. It kind of self destructed today. or maybe I just got a little hungry

It’s about 4-4.5”. I’d tie them a little bigger if the bucktail I bought was long enough!

Not red hot but more fish hit the beach today than I’ve seen so far this year. A girl I know got an 8.3 pounder on gear.

I love the contrast of the absolutely gorgeous silver vs the busted up cork. Haha!

I had to repair the cork on my 8wt 1st gen Fenwick Aetos and really liked the price, quality and service I got from Proof Fly Fishing. $21 for one that would pretty much match your outfit. If you have a heat gun and some Gorilla glue it's a pretty straight-forward operation.

Might wanna slap some tape on that thing before it gets any shorter!

Thanks for the info! I’m hoping that echo will warranty it but we’ll see. I was fishing my backup ion XL today but then I hit the tip section with a clouser and exploded it, so I had to run back to the car and grab the destroyed cork rod to save the day

Yeah I already ordered a new tip section for the ion XL. The Boost Blue with the torn up cork is the one I'm gonna try to warranty.

Slower today but fish were caught. These are my first two gear rod fish of the year - the beach got pretty obscenely packed, to the point it was nerve wracking slinging flies. After seeing kings rolling for an hour 100 feet outta fly range, the gear rod’s been coming with me…

Wrapped up this weekends salmon fishing this morning. Headed out to fish tuna tomorrow.

0-2 fishing 2.5 hours yesterday afternoon. 2-2 this morning. Was able to wrap up super fast this morning too, which allowed me to hang out with the wife for the day before heading to Westport.

Beach 1 was a bust so I switched up and hooked up within the first 15 mins at the next beach, typical 4lb rezzie. Had another follow but called it shortly after! In other news, Echo is sending me a new butt section for my rod free of cost!
