During a Mutton Bustin event (which I was helpin a friend) at the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo, a few years back…

They were loading the chutes for the bull riding event. A bull jumped vertically over the chute gate and into the arena. We had kids, parents, etc, scrambling for cover.

Michael Jordan’s vertical leap was nothing compared to that bull. 😳
 
Party Bus has been “condemned” by the PRCA. He’ll never buck in a rodeo again…it was his first and last performance. He’ll be put out to pasture to sire future rodeo athletes.
 
I remember the Florence Fiasco, folks had a house in Waldport at the time. And the engineer who planned the debacle was promoted; only in civil service.
Early 1990’s I was working on a prison expansion in the Sierra foothills where extensive use of dynamite is required to clear and level construction sites due to granite being under thin topsoil. The general contractor’s powder man miscalculated and blew a boulder the size of a VW bug into the he existing prison parking lot that landed on top of an employee’s car. 😳

Ahh, brain fart; meant to put this in the Florence whale thread.

Bison and bears can run up to 35mph.. At that speed they can cover 100 yds in under 6 seconds. Getting closer than a hundred yards is living dangerously.
 
There's never enough carnage and contact in this sport. That bull Party Bus should be released into the park. That thing at least has the right attitude to be a star player. I hate to say it but I want more blood. I want more direct consequence. I want carnage. These minor maulings just aren't compelling enough. I need maximum overdrive style Yellowstone strikes back.
