I def was never rooting for the C's, even though Luka is so damn whiny (I thought he DID get the raw end of a couple whistles, but not that last one) & I never really cared for Kyrie's conspiracy BS--got nothing to do with his incredible skill at this game though, I've always secretly rooted for the Mav's. But, happy for JB (future Finals MVP) & crew...

JB is my vote.

Great finals.

probably great if you're a C's fan....probably not for any other basketball fan. It's honestly provided very few really good moments. Mostly D getting dominated by the C's, but not a really enjoyable series from a competitive standpoint to watch.

While I am a big C’s fan, I’ve never really watched Luca play much…for a pudgy slow white dude, that guy is amazing…and the best player on the court. His step back jump shot is nearly unstoppable…but he seems to run out of gas late in the game

Dallas comes back from 20 points down isn't competitive?

for those 5 min of game time, sure.... Would be great to see a game 7, but I'll be shocked if it gets to a game 5. Also, I tend to look more at the big picture vs the minutiae within a single game.

Yeah, I feel like if he could get ahold of a top notch trainer, he'd be literally unstoppable...on the O anyway. the dude will never be a great defender, but he definitely showed what could be in the previous series....a few fewer entry way beers and a few more sessions in the gym would fix that. I guess it depends whether on not he really wants to ascend to that next level via changing his eating/drinking habits. Shit, most of us would enjoy the drink and eat too much!

I tend to look more at the entire season than the " minutiae" of a finals.
Playoff Celtics have elevated from top tier to unstoppable. Don't agree with there being a lack competitiveness from other teams...but the C's are simply a notch better.

so it's not very competitive then....or is it, which is it?

Say what you want about how good this C's team is or has been but up until now, their m.o. has been wilting when it really mattered. I guess there's still time for that, but I can't see it happening.

These finals have been incredibly boring to watch because the games just haven't really been all that close (in spite of Dallas making last night's game a little bit interesting for a short bit).

smartest move of the series was Boston hunting him out through picks, etc. so he'd HAVE to guard JB or JT

The difference in the series is that the C's guards defend. Their best players defend. In contrast, Doncic is a bad defensive player. Kyrie is an ambivalent defender.

I think that it can not be understated how awful Irving was the 1st 2 games. He was bad offensively and seemed to play with no passion. He really set the tone for the Mavericks overall. Although the boxscore says he had 35 last night, he was not really all that good.

Luka has been getting killed in the press for his terrible defense. He should. The C's blow by him. His only real defense is his (couch, cough) "width". I don't understand why Kyrie isn't getting more heat. He has been much worse. Last night Irving was a -3 just as he was in game 2. He was a -19 in game 1 (-25 for the series) . Quite simply, players perform worse when he is on the floor. For all his defensive struggles, Luka was a +9 last night (-4 for the series). When Luka is off the court, the Mav's offense has to go through Irving. He is amongst the most selfish basketball players that I have seen. The flat earther has a whopping 8 assists for the series. He is the basketball equivalent of a failed cancer drug. He gives only false hope.

The C's are just better in every way. They play defense individually and as a team. They play offense as a team. I am not sure that team offense is possible with Irving on the floor. I am not sure that succesful defense is possible with Luka out there.

Tatum has been a lot better than people give hime credit for. He had 25 assists over the 1st 2 games. He was the best player for the C's in Boston, even when shooting poorly. His passing and selfless offense set the tone for the C's in the same way Irving's selfish and lethargic play set the tone for Dallas. Brown is a superstar and has played like one on both ends of the court. Tatum has been just as good, albeit without the flash that Brown has provided. Brown's dunks and blocks stand out every night.

But how do you really feel about Kyrie?…

I'm not sure I'd trust any Celtics fan to give an accurate assessment on Kyrie... 🤷‍♂️

Kyrie is 0-15 against the C’s since he left…
That would be an accurate assessment, if we were talking about tennis or ping pong or any other sport where teams weren't involved.

It is a fact, you are correct.

I thought I was being generous.
Mom was a basketball coach. I learned from her to have no tolerance for self centered basketball players.
