What's in your vise?

First try experimenting with a Ned rig type fly. It's a changer shank for the tail with foam and some dubbing. I attached the tail by braiding rabbit cut off the strip and hydro hackle around 10lb tippet. the front is the same two materials wrapped forward. some legs, dumbbell eyes and dubbing.

I'm gonna try it tomorrow at a pond nearby. I think I should have tied it with more weight up front and more foam on the tail. If anyone has any ideas on how to tweak this I'd be happy to hear them as I plan tie more variations.
Try tying it on the smallest ned rig jig hook you can find. An 8wt casts them fine, and that flat weight is critical imho.

Had to replace an all white almost all bucktail that I left just out of reach in a tree (I didn't feel like getting wet, but if anyone finds it and can get it, keep it....it works very well) plus added another with a similar color scheme as what my last couple of fish have come on. I did change the innards a touch (denser bucktail under the head and no foam).

That previous one after it's gotten wet and dried...

and something VERY similar (albeit dry and a little wild), although the tail is a touch different and the head is mostly NMF baitfish blend to help keep it a little more rigid (only downside is that it'll have slightly less micro movement compared to Titan Dub.

So we got these Siberian Prawns coming in…
Been fishing the lower Snake, Columbia and lower Yakima for bass some this spring. Bass and walleye in the Snake and Columbia seem to be eating these shrimp things.

Great fly. Late last summer I found out about those. Don't think I'll get much chance to fish up there for a while. Let us know how it works out. https://pnwflyfishing.com/forum/index.php?threads/siberian-shrimp-patterns-please.5866/ .
