Scotty glue on pads on watermaster

Smolt
Recently got a kodiak and I am hoping to transfer a scotty mount anchor system and rod holders from sportsman version outcast scout to the kodiak.

I searched a bit on the internet and looks like it is possible to stick glue on pads on watermaster rafts. Anyone here tried it and if you did, would you share your experience pls?

Thanks,
Sid

I put one on my Bucks Bag Bronco three years ago. Still there. I use it to mount my transducer so it doesn't get much abuse. It has survived a half dozen trips to BC, two trips to Montana and Idaho, and all the inflating/deflating associated with going over the mountain passes on those trips.
You need to use the proper glue for the material your boat is made of. Mine was PVC and I ordered a six pack of polyurethane M.E.K. 30ml tubes from Amazon.

I fully inflated the boat, cleaned the spot with some alcohol, placed the pad where I wanted it and marked around it. Then I applied masking tape around the marks for a neat job. applied the glue to both surfaces and applied the pad. I then wrapped a ratchet strap around the tube and pad and let it set overnight.

It's very solid but I am uncertain how it would hold up for an anchor mount.

Thank you _WW_. Planning to use a 2x5LB diving weights. On the Outcast Scout, I used only 5LB and it held up with out issues. I am guessing I should be ok with 10LB on since Scotty 276 Anchor Lock is rated up to 20LBs.

I have 2 of the glue on pads on my Kodiak. Been there 2 years I think, maybe more. I put rod holders in them, so they haven't had the stress of an anchor, but I see others set up with anchors. I used either Staybond or H-66 to glue them on. Can't remember which, but both of those glues work on WMs.

Thank you Salmon_g. Great input on the glue.

Thank you,

I have 3 on my water otter. One for the rod holder trolling buggers for jumbos. One for Garmin sonar and the third for the transducer. The glue works best if it’s not too old otherwise needs to be thinned with acetone. Apply the pad and clamp it tightly against the raft with a couple of nylon straps for a few hours until the glue dries.

If a 5 lb jumbo can’t pull the pad and rod holder off it’ll probably work for your anchor.

H-66 works well on Outcast boats and is easy to work with. If you can determine that it works for Watermaster boats, I strongly recommend it.

Thank you. I am guessing the same. I mainly fish stillwater and intend to use only on lake.

Thank you,
Sid

Thank you. I am planning to call watermaster to see if they could give me input on this. I will ask about H66.

I was talking with the WM guy at the fly show in Feb. He wasn't familiar with H-66; he uses and sells Staybond.

BSI - Water Master sells Stabond

Also, a cautionary word. I have a strap-on Scotty anchor lock for the bow of my Kodiak to use when lake fishing but don't use it often. IMHO a Scotty anchor lock should not be used on a Water Master in moving water. Mounting it on the stern puts it out of reach to quickly cut the rope if I am dumb enough to drop anchor or unfortunate enough to have the anchor drop on its own in current strong enough to flip the boat. The Water Master anchor system jam cleat mounts on the wooden seat thwart so the rope can be cut quickly.

I will stick with Watermaster recommendation and stick with Stabond glue.
Thank you all for your suggestions and input.
