Just imagine if the Santa Clara 49ers brought in Matthew Stafford during the 2021 off-season. They tried hard to lure him, but fortunately the LA RAMS signed him first and won Super Bowl glory.

Santa Clara also had the opportunity to hire Sean McVay as head coach during the 2017 off-season. He choose the LA RAMS instead and has been a stellar coach and leader.

The 49ers were able to steal Christian McCaffery from the RAMS, which was a bummer. That guy is special.
While there is no disputing your well documented place as one of our preeminent authorities on all things NFL, I just wish you would, for once, reveal if you are an ardent fan of any particular team.

You trying to say Shanahan doesn't have a punchable face, or that flat brim hat isn't stupid ?

Lol

SF is a broken team, spirit is crushed by Kyle's poor decision making under pressure, plus the window is closing quick down at the Field of Jeans...team is aging fast.
Dude fails in the big moments.
Will be fired after next year's playoff miss.

Was reading about the Bears today. They cut a safety and guard / center that were their longest tenured players on each side of the ball.
What was most amazing is the article stated that the Bears don’t have anyone on their roster that they drafted before 2020. They is some pretty terrible drafting by the previous regime.
It will be interesting to see if they move on from Fields to draft Williams or trade out of the pick for more draft capital.

Yeah, this is exactly the kind of post I was talking about.

Truth hurts, I understand...right now you're bitter, dreams crushed, another loss...
😁🤣😁

jealousy is the most bitter of all drinks, yet some folks cannot help but gulp it

A die hard fan of the Niners since Kezar stadium days, still have wood splinters in my ass from the hard wooden backless benches, as a kid watching YA Tittle throw to Billy Wilson, Hugh Mcelhenny busting through the line.
Followed by decades in the desert hoping, hell praying, for a mere .500 season.
And then Bill Walsh assembled a dream team and led us to the Holy Grail.
No one took this last loss harder than Shanahan, no one will work harder to get back. Not another coach in the league we'd trade him for.
The Ram's coach?..."not sure I still love coaching the game'...'how about we give you a massive new contract'...'I'm in love with coaching the game."
And LA isn't a city...it's a condition, like a massive outbreak of Psoriasis

One more response before I put you on ignore for being a troll(one of the worst type of internet peoples):

Who would you have other than Shanahan? It took Reid 21 years and a Mahomes to win one.

Playoff wins since 2019:

Internet trolls don't exist without thinned skinned folks who get sad from internet comments. They are two peas on a pod.
So it's debatable what's worse.

Kyle Shannahan wins a lot. He is 8-4 in the postseason. He got to the superbowl with Jimmy Garoppolo. That is pretty darned good.

Andy Reid won a lot too but he could not win the NFC championship game, until he did. He still wins a lot. Now it is SB titles.

I would take either one as the coach of the team that I rooted for. You don't let coaches who consistently win go.

The 9ers tanked from 2014 - 2018, stocking up on high draft picks during those black years. Shanny had lots of talent upon his arrival (minus the QB position) to coach. After the 2019 SB54 loss, they tanked again during the 2020 season to reload on draft picks. Shanahan's coaching and his coaching staff had their best year in 2021 in my opinion. The departure of key assistant coaches for other jobs hurt them in the 2023 season. Some key 9er players are aging fast or underperforming their recent contracts (e.g., Deebo). Wasting 1st round picks on Trey Lance was incredibly costly. Time to tank again in 2024?

I guess tank = injury bug?

Shit, Denver's been tanking since their SB victory in SB 50 and it hasn't helped them land shit...guess other teams are just better at it....although, lots are also worse.

To tank the right way you have to hoard draft picks.

You could be a Jets fan...
🙂
13 years with no playoffs.

What happened the year after the Rams won the SB, oh yeah, failed to make the playoffs - did they tank?
